Re: Introduce yourselves
I am so pleased to find this site...
I have been a Lions Fan since the age of 14 (1974) when we use to climb a tree on the Hastings side of Empire Stadium, step onto the top of the wall, maneuver over the three stands of barb wire and then jump down and into Empire at half time. Half time was the only time we could make it by running into the crowd on the outside concourse. We got to see the last half of almost every home game.
I remember hovering on the outside of the Barb wire for 20 minutes waiting for the crowd to arrive at half time because of security guards standing 10 feet below us. True story.. By buddy Brent and I were sitting up on the fence one game with a security guard below us, and Brent let a slow spit drop.... and it landed right in the coffee cup of a security guard and he never noticed a thing. I was laughing so hard I had to jump back on the tree and get off the wall.
Vic Rapp was my favorite coach... I loved that little fire plug. Leon "Neon" Bright was my favorite player when I was young. Al Wilson, Glen Jackson, Jim Young, The Packers cast off Jerry Tagge... The list goes on. The 1977 BC Lions are my favorite team in the history of "Lions Pride."
Hate is a very strong word... So I will say I despise the ESKIMOS and every fiber of their being.
Pleased to find this site....

Re: Introduce yourselves
Hi all. I'm 26 , not married, and living in Calgary. Grew up in BC. I've always been a Lions' fan, but I love them even more that I'm out of province. You'll often find me at McMahon for Stamps games. Love the atmoshpere there.
I'm a big fan of the CFL. Started playing football last year, which has made me love the game even more. Can't stand the Riders or the Eskies. Also, I dislike Ricky Ray despite having a healthy respect for him.
Think that's about it.

Sounds like your going to fit right in here. I did that Calgary tour as well, but let me tell you, we never had the team that we have had under Wally's watch back then, enjoy the good times.Ness wrote:Hi all. Re: Introduce yourselves
Hello, I'm in my 30's and a recent fan of the CFL in general and the BC Lions in particular.
I'm looking forward to chatting with my fellow Lions fans.

Know the smallest things and the biggest things, the shallowest things and the deepest things. As if it were a straight road mapped out on the ground ... These things cannot be explained in detail. From one thing, know ten thousand things. When you attain the Way of strategy there will not be one thing you cannot see. You must study hard.

Hi all!
My name is Shane Hoopfer. I'm a Stamps fan living in Calgary. I also do blogging for http://www.prosportsblogging.com covering the Stamps, Flames, and Mariners, and am the director of CFL content on the site. Our CFL coverage is starting at the end of this week!
I'm looking forward to the start of the season! And hearing what people think about their teams and the CFL in general.

Re: Introduce yourselves
Hi.
I said HI!
Man, I can't even hear myself with all the artificial noise pumped in to this site... I can't see either... I'll try squinting... that's a bit better... still, maybe I could get a better view if I just walked out on to the field.
Anyway, the name's Chris Real, Saskatchewan Roughriders #1, Riderfans.com #1 enemy, and uber-proud of being both.
How's it going Phil? Long time no talk.
Haven't checked out the forums at all yet on here, but I'm a fan of Rammer and Zarquon's work on other sites, so decided to sign up. Oh and a dude called Lyin' Guy as well. Is he on this site as well?
I'm off to do some reading through threads... I'm sure I'm bound to run into some good Rider bashing, which I'll take offense and exception to... and I'm sure I'm bound to run into some Rider fan bashing, which I'll laugh my arse off at and start nodding in agreement.
I'll wrap this up... I'm out of time.
Oh wait, Lionbacker's time keeper just added an extra 30 seconds...
Peace all, see ya in the football discussions. Rock n' roll.
