This last message is exactly what is needed on both sites. Membership takes it's cues from the mods and ultimately is inclined to listen if it means the privileges on their home sites are at risk.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

That has happened....but it is always a 2 way street, by the looks of it football talk is dominating both sites again.....

I'm just hoping that we can drastically reduce (like to 0) the number of posts that pertain to Riderfans.com. Let's keep what happens over on Riderfans.com to over there. I am quite sure they are hoping the same thing will happen there.

Let's keep this forum open to good discussion on football topics (GForce - a CFL fan who happens to cheer for the Riders - has started one such good one here tonight and for that I thank him).

Also, should you go over to Riderfans.com, keep this in mind. It is a RIDERS fan board. They are going to see things with a green tint much like we see things with an orange tint. And here's the rub - it's their board they are entitled to do so (same thing goes for Lions fans here)!! If you question their viewpoint, take off your orange glasses and put on a pair of green ones and try looking at it from that POV. I would also request that anyone going over there does keep it civil and try to engage in FOOTBALL discussion. I did a cursory look at their board tonight and saw many of the same complaints I have seen here, namely the lack of good football discussion threads. So if you are going to Riderfans.com this week, please do all Lions fans a favour and keep it to football discussion, much like Gforce did with his thread and much like we get from some of the respected Rider fans we get on here (you guys know who you are).

On the flip side of things, I would ask that non-lion fans that come here, please respect that this is a Lions board and we see things with an orange tint here. Be respectful to the people that post here, understand where they are coming from, and to post with that knowledge.

Let's keep it football on both sides and just enjoy the game.

I like some good-natured ribbing just as much as the next person, but as too often happens in cyberspace, it can VERY easily be taken out of context, especially because it is done behind screens and we can't always see the grin that was to accompany the remark.

And my final note, let's ALL remember that fans are required for ALL teams. If there aren't fans for one team, then NONE of us get to enjoy the CFL like we do. This is a gate driven league and NONE of the teams can afford to have ANY of the fans to not come to games. And as such, we here as Lions fans, need the Rider fans, the Eskie fans, the Stamps fans, Argo fans, the Als fans, the Ticat fans, the Bomber fans, and hopefully the Ottawa fans so that we can enjoy our Lions. At the end of the day we are all CFL fans.

I sure hope that I haven't in any way brought a black eye to this site with my discussions on RF. I admit that I've been stirring the pot a little bit over there and have had a few people get upset with me, but I don't believe like I've stepped over the line with any of my comments. Most of the things I've said have been tongue-in-cheek, (ie - good natured ribbing between rivals). If I have crossed the line in any way, please let me know. It's not my intentions to troll but it seems like they have a very different opinion of what a troll is over at that place than we do over here.

Let the Rider fans be concerned about canned noise. If that's their biggest concern, rather than their lack of a healthy running back, then that's their problem..

What about Alouette fans who will root for the Lions because I absolutely positively refuse to root for either Winnpeg or, ***SHUDDER***, Toronto?

Joe it wasn't you necessarily, apparently there was a couple Lion fans that came over and started spewing nothing but insults, so that got people sour......I didn't really mind you over there, you sound like one of the better ones, and it shows......

I would like to hear what they are saying on riderfans and would like to diss-cuss it. Stir the pot? It's one week, it's entertainment and don't take yourselves too seriously.

I agree Joe. I think they do have a different intrepretation of the term troll than Lionbackers do. I think thats about the only way you can explain Gerry getting banned there. I didn't think he said anything inflammatory.
