Re: Final wrap on free agency: Offence and Defence
As Washington enters his 4th season as defensive coordinator, I must say he has had mixed success so far. The Lions have been pretty good in most defensive categories during his tenure. He does deserve credit for that. I think our defensive line will be ok this year. I think Brooks played injured fo...

You could wear it as a hat. Start a new trend.CardiacKid wrote:Only downside...if I buy his game-worn jersey, no way in hell is it going to fit me. I won't even be able to pull it over my head.

Re: Free Agent Market and Free Agent Camps
Wally is killing this off-season. I thought Wally did really well last year in the off-season as well. Chris Jones is doing really well in free agency as well. Signing last season's MOP O lineman for a reasonable $ and also addressing the Riders lack of NATs by signing 4 on opening day of FA. I thi...

Re: Chris Williams now a Leo
Chris Williams has been one of my favorite non-lions players over the past few seasons, he does some pretty crazy stuff, in one of our games against Ottawa last year he had 5 catches for 155 yards. I think his speed and his skill set will compliment Manny and Burnham very well, and with him, Manny, ...

Re: Free Agent Market and Free Agent Camps
with free agency now 24 hours away, I'm curious to see who would be on everyone's free agent wish list. Wally does deserve credit for being able to retain most of his free agents. With our starting o line intact, most of our receivers returning, the only remaining big names on our list are BRooks an...

Re: Free Agent Market and Free Agent Camps
Good new about the Lee signing, in my opinion Yell will be soon to follow According to Farhan Lalji BC has signed Burnham to a 2 year extension http://www.cfl.ca/2017/02/10/fa-rumour-mill-2017/ If true this is huge news, Burnham really had a breakout year last year. Regardless of whether we resign S...

Re: Lions and RP21 part ways
Over the past five seasons or so Phillips has probably been one of my favourite players., however there is no arguing that he has lost a step... or two as evidenced by he mediocre play last season. It appeared that last season he understood and accepted his role as a veteran presence and mentor for ...

Re: Upcoming Free Agent Market
Waters already appears on the Lions roster wearing #34, my guess is the job is his to loose for this season, however, Wally will likely either draft a national in a later round, or sign an import like Fera, and keep this kicker on the practice roster or 1 game injured list as a backup.

Re: 2017 schedule
Not a bad schedule, It looks pretty front loaded with tough divisional games. The BC day game against Saskatchewan may lead to a larger crowd than normal. At least we don't have thre straight weeks without a home game like we did last year. Did you miss the part where they open at home on June 24th...

Re: Upcoming Free Agent Market
I really liked Waters a couple of years ago when he was with Toronto, if I can recall he did all three kicking duties reasonably well.

Re: Upcoming Free Agent Market
The article is still posted on TSN, no word yet from the official CFL site yet, but Steward was a huge piece, and in my opinion the best lineman on a pretty good line last year. Hopefully we can still get a deal done with Burnham, but Moore is a pretty signing too, even if he plays in Sinkfield's sp...

Re: An idea to kick around?
I see Farhan is reporting that the Als have released Anthony Fera, so unless he's signing an NFL deal like all the other early FA releases I would expect Wally to give him a call. https://twitter.com/FarhanLaljiTSN/status/826184489449771008 I wouldn't mind having Fera back. He played pretty well in...

Lions extend Steven Clarke
As reported on the CFL website this morning, the Lions have extended Steven Clarke. :cheer: http://www.cfl.ca/2017/01/31/lions-extend-veteran-defender-steven-clarke/ This is pretty good new imo, he played pretty well before his injury last season, hopefully he can return to form this season. So that...

Re: Yell, Lee, Clarke, they can tweet or facebook or whatever they want but it is difficult to get what you think you are worth when you are recovering from a season ending injury. It is especially difficult for other teams to pay big $ to FA coming off injuries. So sign a one year deal for less th...
