I was horrified to see that ghastly 'alt logo' used in the promo.

Re: Training camp 2025
I hope this tweak is not in response to 3DownNation's ridiculous ranking of every CFL logo at the end of last year. Our primary roaring head logo finished a dismal #28 overall (the only team without a logo in the Top 25). Most I talk to see ours as Top 10 material.
So no alterations please!

It's really just the same logo as has been used for all but a few of the last 50 years except for a different font for the BC.squishy35 wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 2:06 pmThat is one horrible logo...Heisenbeamer wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 11:33 am I was horrified to see that ghastly 'alt logo' used in the promo.

Re: Training camp 2025
The Lions have released their full training camp schedule.
The two full practices for rookie camp May 8-9 and all practices in the first week of main camp May 11-17 will be held in the morning in Kamloops. The team leaves May 18 for the first preseason game in Langford on May 19, and returns to Kamloops immediately after the game.
All practices in the second week from May 20-23 will be in the afternoon beginning at 4 p.m., followed by FanFest on Saturday afternoon, May 24.
The final three full practices on May 26-28 will be held in the morning. I’ll have to miss those but I plan to attend the final preseason game in Edmonton on May 30.

Looking forward to those detailed training camp reports next month, B.C.FAN and whoever else chimes in! Meanwhile my enthusiasm got another shot in the arm after reading the chat between Garry Peters and JC Abbott at 3DownN. I'm curious about one passing comment Peters made, i.e. the expectation of "new facilities". Anyone know what he may be referring to there? I'm supposing it is within the context of training camp, but that's just a guess. https://3downnation.com/2025/04/12/vete ... 24-season/

Note, the full Garry Peters quote is, "We're looking to get a new facility soon". Offered in context of praising the generous ownership of Amar Doman.

Re: Training camp 2025
I doubt that would relate to training camp. By all accounts the facilities at TRU are top notch by CFL standards, arguably best in the league. The club's Surrey facility, leased from City of Surrey, on the other hand leaves much to desired. I think Doman badly wants to upgrade that.Gridiron Ernie wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 4:17 pm Looking forward to those detailed training camp reports next month, B.C.FAN and whoever else chimes in! Re: Training camp 2025
That week of evening practices should provide opportunity to get a lot more kids and families out to watch. Otherwise it's mostly just old retired geezers and sometimes their brides making up the railbirds.B.C.FAN wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:21 am The Lions have released their full training camp schedule.

Re: Training camp 2025
As the old saying goes; if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck.......... Grey or none seems to be the predominent hair colour and style in the Hillside bleachers during camp.
LOL.
I shouldn't be including myself as I'm not officially retired despite my 5 month Mazatlan winters. Got a meeting out in FSJames 5 days after I get home that could turn into some more semi-retirement gig work. Be nice to pick up a few weeks to help offset the cost of traveling down to Van for Lions games.

Unfortunately, I think we're stuck with it. The luggage for sale on the team site is plastered in it.
It's horrible. One of the worst I've ever seen.
Re: Training camp 2025
Solution looking for a problem. We have a wonderful logo. Those stooges at 3Down don't know what they're talking about, ranking it so low.
IF it needed tweaking (it doesn't but just humoring them here), this wasn't it.
On the plus side, I do quite like the new hats.

Re: Training camp 2025
The biggest question for me heading into camp is how the Lions will deploy their talent in the secondary and linebacking corps. LB Josh Woods, who is recovering from knee surgery, answered part of that question in an interview with Vicki Hall published today at cfl.ca, saying he plans to report to camp in Kamloops next week but doesn’t expect to be ready to step on the field until sometime this summer. That leaves Americans Micah Awe and Mike Smith and nationals Ben Hladik and Adam Auclair as the top veteran contenders for starting roles.
