I think that we are all in agreement that our co-ordinators are in over their heads, and that Wally should have cut ties with one or both of them long ago. However I think that if any other coach was in the exact situation, the in effective co-ordinator is gone and the head coach takes over. If you think of the other coaches in the league all except Wally could fire one or both co-ordinators and take over no problem. However, if Wally was to take over the offense or defense we would be no better.
You see it all the time, a co-ordinator gets canned mid season and the head coach takes over. I doubt Wally has the guts to pull the trigger though.

Maybe Wally could become the league's only GM/HC/OC/DC...

Fire Chapdelaine
Fire Benevides
Stay on as HC for the remainder of the season.
Hire Matt Dunigan as OC
Hire Dave Ritchie as DC
after the season step down as HC, and try to coax Scott Milanovich out of Montreal.

Except for his own admission that he is not an "X" and "O" person. He relies on his assistants and right now they are letting him down big times and have been for the past several years.kenny wrote:I think that we are all in agreement that our co-ordinators are in over their heads, and that Wally should have cut ties with one or both of them long ago. Disagree on Chap, think Mike B should be in deep trouble, we've scored more then enough points the Defence has reverted to 2009 levels and I for one do not enjoy track meets in our secondary.The_Pauser wrote:Fire Chapdelaine

Know the smallest things and the biggest things, the shallowest things and the deepest things. As if it were a straight road mapped out on the ground ... These things cannot be explained in detail. From one thing, know ten thousand things. When you attain the Way of strategy there will not be one thing you cannot see. You must study hard.

our biggest loss last year was Rich Stubler, made our D great last year
Re: What Wally should do but can't/won't
I've heard that Buono gets very involved in the defence, essentially directing Benevides what to do in certain situations. That is just hearsay, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Wally should step down for the sake of the organization and fanbase. But won't because of his stubbornness and arrogance.MacNews wrote:I've heard that Buono gets very involved in the defence, essentially directing Benevides what to do in certain situations. That goes for Chapdelaine too. He needs to go, as well.

Yep, without a doubt, Stubler is showing continued success in Edmonton, Mike B is reverting to, well Mike B.donefron wrote:our biggest loss last year was Rich Stubler, made our D great last year
What kills me about the last two yrs is...you don't know what you are going to get, in 2010 the offence was dreadful to start the yr, the Defence was great, this yr, the Defence is dreadful and the offence is really pretty good.

Let me know how good this O really is, they have had the chance to move the ball in three games with the game on the line and have failed to do so. Two of those the opposition was far enough out front to play a prevent D which almost cost them, but the Lions O doesn't show the ability to move when the opposition play them straight up. Not sold on this O just yet.joe kapp22 wrote:Yep, without a doubt, Stubler is showing continued success in Edmonton, Mike B is reverting to, well Mike B.donefron wrote:our biggest loss last year was Rich Stubler, made our D great last year

26/32/16/31 for 106 pts, 3rd best in the league and 3 behind Montreal.Rammer wrote:Let me know how good this O really is, they have had the chance to move the ball in three games with the game on the line and have failed to do so. The Defense has allowed 136 pts, 20 pts worse then the next worst team.
You tell me.

Let's be blunt: they're both terrible. That's the reason they're winless.
