Predict the Standings thread

So just to see those who have orange coloured glasses vs those without, let us know what record each team will have at the end of the season.

EAST:

Montreal 12 - 6 (brought back to the pak with a stronger East Division in 2011)
Hamilton 10 - 8 (Finally starting to use all that ex-Lion talent)
Toronto 9 - 9 (Great D and some nice ST work help the Argos push for second)
Winnipeg 7 - 11 ( Just like their record, the Bombers are open 24/7 for NI talent)

WEST:

Saskatchewan 11 - 7 (experience from the Grey Cups help push the Riders to the front of the division)
BC ....... 10 - 8 (Need to improve their O to match the terrific D)
Calgary 9 - 9 (things aren't quite the same in D-land in Calgary)
Edmonton 4 - 12 (the Esks will have to do some more tilling to unearth a few gems)

I agree with your seedings exactly but I think Montreal/Sask will have more losses. In other words both divisions will be closer top to bottom.

The 24 hours commuter newspaper did their season preview (haven't gotten my mitts on the Sun or Province previews---YET). All their 'experts' think it will be Calgary in the Grey Cup. All but one figures Montreal will be the Stamps opponent, the lone wolf picking the Argos. Its a bit early, IMO, to figure out the playoffs just yet but I think all the doormats of 2010 (Bombers, Esks and Lions) will be better. The Bombers found ways to lose and I think they were better than their record, so they'll improve. Esks...not so sure maybe better. And of course, I think the Lions will be vastly improved but not quite ready to win the division. Just my view....

Re: Predict the Standings thread

Groupings ... These numbers probably don't add up, but do indicate order of finish ...

Calgary ... 11 - 7

Regina, B.C. about the same, perhaps 10 - 8

Edmonton slightly behind ... 7 - 11

Montreal ... 12 - 6

Hamilton ... 10 - 8

Toronto ... 8 - 10

Winnipeg ... 6 - 12
..........

I expect Calgary to come back to the pack a bit.

Regina about the same as always

B.C. could surprise and get back to the days of 2004 - 2007. Could. Not entirely probable.

I kind of think Toronto maxed out its wins last year. Not as good as their record possibly.

Montreal still the class of the league.
.............

Lions vs Alouettes will tell a lot. If B.C. wins, then I would upgrade their status immediately. Or B.C.'s relative youth and inexperience could show we still have a ways to go.

Re: Predict the Standings thread

Stamps 12-6
Lions 11-7
Riders 9-9
Esks 6-12

Als 11-7
TiCats 9-9
Bombers 8-10
Argos 6-12

Riders/Lions
Bombers/TiCats

Lions/Stamps
Ticats/Als

Lions/Als

We would be the away team for the Grey Cup, if we have the worse record, right? #weirdstuff

Re: Predict the Standings thread

WEST
Calgary 13-5 - The league's best receivers and running backs, suspect O-line and defensive secondary
B.C. 12-6 - The league's best defence, vastly improved O-line, inexperienced receivers
Saskatchewan 8-10 - Overhauled coaching staff and the loss of two top Canadian receivers will cause problems
Edmonton 4-14 - Half the team is new. If all fgoes well, it will take them a year to gel and gain experience

EAST
Montreal 12-6 - No Cahoon, no Watkins for now, but coaching keeps them on top as long as Calvillo is healthy
Hamilton 9-9 - Kevin Glenn, Arland Bruce and a strong defence keep them in second place
Winnipeg 8-10 - They could do better if Buck Pierce can stay healthy all year for the first time in his career
Toronto 6-12 - An improved Cleo Lemon is still Cleo Lemon

A lot of experts are picking the Lions to go all the way. B.C. Calgary and Saskatchewan could all come out of the West. Anyone except Toronto could come out of the East but Montreal is still the team to beat.

Would love to know how the Riders are going to accumulate 11 wins without the production of Fantuz and Bagg, no pass rush with Hawkins on the 9 game, and a kicking game that's an adventure from >30 yards out. :dizzy:

Not too worried about criticism, afterall it is becoming tradition after I selected the Lions for 8 wins last season....:)

Shultz and Stegall showing their orange color glasses there and Randorf trying real hard not to show his .
Somehow I think it'll be a fight for first between BC and Stamps and Eskies duking it out with the Riders this year for last spot . Can't see a good reason to be overly optimistic on the Riders this time round , their time to slide into decline .
Als still on top in the East but slowly losing their dominance , much closer between Ticats and Argos as Cleo Lemon gains more expearience , can't see the reason for over optimism on the Ticats either with them picking up so many players that could not make the BC roster and their big aqusition being Avon Coburn . RBs to me in this league are the easiest to replace spot , as most teams do not do much more running than BC . No reason to elevate the Bombers IMO .
