Absoluteley Disgusted
With tonights performance. The offencensive play calling was EVEN MORE BRUTAL tonight than it has been in the first seven games. Can anybody tell me WHERE IS THE DECEPTION in this offence? That's right - THERE IS NONE. It's absolutely PATHETIC. Didn't see any mis direction, screens, q.b. draws etc, etc, NOTHING BUT THE SAME OLD, SAME OLD. The Calgary offence kept us guessing and of guard all night - our defence had no frickin answer to Dickenson and his offensive play calling. Chapdelaine needs to go NOW!!!!! This is absolutely unforgivable to have such a lame ass offence at this point of the season. HEADS NEED TO ROLL - RIGHT FRICKIN" NOW!!!

I agree 100%. I really tried to be positive and thought the Leos would go on a little roll after winning this game.
That being said, I have never been so embarassed as a Lions fan as I am right now. Once again no adjustments at half time and the offence does NOTHING in the second half.
We have lost 7 GAMES IN A ROW!! We have changed players, the problem is clear, change the coaches!! Goodbye Chap.
This season is LOST!! Blow it up and start over.
Mr.Braley, the ball is in your court now!!

Same old same old. Just see all my posts for the last 2 weeks because nothing has
changed.
The Lions O is now a pathetic embarrassment. Time to break out the paper bag over the head for all home game attendees. Maybe it should be a plastic bag over the head with no mouth or nose holes.
How about the Lions try to rent the SFU O line for next game; they couldn't do much worse than whats out their now. Of course the SFU O line coach comes with them cause we don't want Dorazio messing with their heads as he seems to have done to the Lions O line.

I freaked out a few weeks ago, but somehow I have gone past freaking out into an uncharted place which is even worse. If I wasn't so defeated and disheartened I would be freaking out surely.
Okay, Wally made a bad call with the inexperienced O line, and right from the moment he refused to admit his mistake to himself or anyone else things have snowballed. It is now an avalanche. We are swept away. Ladies and gentleman, this is the end... The end of dog racing.

There are ways to make a porous offensive line better with better schemes and a little creativity in play designs.

I grew up in North Van, 2 years ago I moved to Toronto. For the past two season's I have stayed up late into the early hours of the morning to watch and support the Lions. I have driven to Hamilton, and Montreal to watch this team play in person. Last thanksgiving, my father in law surprised me when we were visiting them in Calgary, and drove him and I to Edmonton to watch the Lions play. I've followed this team everywhere.
This season however I cannot say I have done any of that. I've only stayed up for 1 whole game from the west coast. This team is terrible!!!!!! Really, they haven't improved at all since the East Final last year. I'll still watch the games, but I won't be staying up much past 10:45 for most of the games. Fire Chappy, and Wally is close behind. As for the future of the team......I'll give them 1 really bad season, everyone has them remember when Dunagin coached the Stamps??? So this year is the Lions mulligan, but they better right this ship for 2011!!

I don’t know what amount of coin or how much control of the team it would take, to pry Matt Dunigan away from that cushy job he has at TSN, but I do feel that Mattie would be equal to the challenge of running the present day core of our football operations, players and develop a competitive team in Vancouver.
He could certainly turn the corner on what passes for our present day offensive aspirations, strategy and philosophy, but I fear that nothing but the head-coaching job would be enough to actually get it to happen.
Many have said if not Wally then who could be waiting as heir apparent?
Mike Benevides is still light-years away from running his own ship. Jacque Chapdelaine would be an act of suicide for this organization.
If not for Stubler we would not have ever won that 1st game against Edmonton this in our season opener. Up until last night our defense has been our steadiest asset.
Witness Dave Dickinson’s meteoric rise to prominence in the Hufnagle organization. He is most certainly being groomed to receive the mantle of HC one day. Whether it is in Calgary or elsewhere, it now only stands to be seen where, but there is an excellent chance of it happening in there one day.
The next generation of head coaches is on the horizon, two of which have already been Lion Qbs. We missed the boat on DD after ugly memories of how his tenure ended in 2007, but there is still time on the Dunigan file.
Matt already having the experience of control at the helm of top job, having brought in guys like Nick Lewis, Kenyon Rambo, Wes Cates, in Calgary (all of who are all shining stars in our league now) among a host of other lesser lights, in his 1st season as HC/ GM is a stellar resume to re-invent his career as HC or OC again.
These question can only be answered by a change in ownership (let us prey that it happens soon), for I fear this old boys country club act is a little too comfortable with the Pasquale Buono side-show of snake oil salesmanship.

How about a few members of the SFU pipe band? They couldn't do any worse. They're used to marching in formation so at least they can go the right direction at the right time.DanoT wrote:Same old same old. Just see all my posts for the last 2 weeks because nothing has

At least if we had the Pipe band, we could play a Dirge as we are getting whalloped.
The thing that really saddens me is that this was going to be a great year with the return to Empire, all the nostalgia, the playing outdoors, all of it but now this season will only likely be remembered for the disaster it is becoming. Maybe too much nostalgia is happening.

Well, isn't 35 pts our highest output of the season?
Know the smallest things and the biggest things, the shallowest things and the deepest things. As if it were a straight road mapped out on the ground ... These things cannot be explained in detail. From one thing, know ten thousand things. When you attain the Way of strategy there will not be one thing you cannot see. You must study hard.

Padded by 15 freebie points in garbage time on Calgary's second stringers in the secondary. Oh excuse me, their #0 is 3rd string. Congratulations on showing him up Manny, you classless dolt.ed_lunsford wrote:Well, isn't 35 pts our highest output of the season?
Re: Absoluteley Disgusted
My friend and I started to amuse ourselves after every idiotic play call by saying "You just got Chapped". Every time a play was called that didn't make sense, every time there was no screen pass, every they needed 10 yards and threw for five. "You just got Chapped" became our catch phrase for the entire evening. I'm thinking about making a T-shirt out of it and wearing it to the next game. It nicely sums out how I've felt about the offense for the last three years.
Re: Absoluteley Disgusted
I have to say the You got Chap'd pretty much sums up the past few years. There truly is no imagination to the play calling. Most of our plays that were made came off of broken plays where our QB's were running for their lives.
