After Maurice Lloyd's hit on Ray the first couple minutes of the game and the returned fumble for a touchdown. I can't believe that hit wasn't called. That was as blatant as they get!

I dont even think quadrapleic incident would change things.....someone who have to die on the field for them to notice....or at least it seems.Solar Max wrote:Here it is for ya folks, straight from the idiot (me) that's been saying this for two years.
The League doesn't care. They paid lip service to it a few weeks ago, then swept it under the carpet.
The CFLPA doesn't care.
Ken Miller doesn't care.
Danny Maciocia doesn't care. (See Shabazz, Sideeq)
Talking about this won't change anything. Only someone becoming a quadraplegic will.
Oh and...Lloyd went back at Ray and tried again in the 2nd, but missed. Still got called for rough play though. Proulx must have been off in lala land to call THAT one.
/rant off.
mightybuck: it's FAR worse now, no question. And it's obviously being coached.
Frankly, I wish the Lions defence played a little more on the edge as the Riders D doesVern Halen wrote:I will have to admit I cringed when I saw the hit on Ray, and was surprised when there was no call - Proulx thought he "made up for it" with a phantom spearing call on Lloyd just before the end of the half. We sure got away with one there...
Not that the call would have made much of a difference in the game...Trestman has said that the Rider defense plays "violently" so it's to be somewhat expected. And before anyone jumps on me for defending Maurice Lloyd, I have never called Murphy a dirty player (see first post) - he's just very hardnosed and gets rather excited playing a game he obviously loves and plays with enthusiasm and sometimes gets carried away.
Would never say that about you, never fear.Vern Halen wrote:I will have to admit I cringed when I saw the hit on Ray, and was surprised when there was no call - Proulx thought he "made up for it" with a phantom spearing call on Lloyd just before the end of the half. Just a question for you my friend.....where did you get this one from?Solar Max wrote: (See Shabazz, Sideeq)
I'm guessing based on Shabazz getting called twice for infractions (1 roughing the passer, 1 unnecessary roughness) for late hits on Pierce in BC's last game against the Esks.fishman wrote:Just a question for you my friend.....where did you get this one from?Solar Max wrote: (See Shabazz, Sideeq)
Just not seeing how that ties in with the helmet to helmet hits talked about here.....Hambone wrote:I'm guessing based on Shabazz getting called twice for infractions (1 roughing the passer, 1 unnecessary roughness) for late hits on Pierce in BC's last game against the Esks.fishman wrote:Just a question for you my friend.....where did you get this one from?Solar Max wrote: (See Shabazz, Sideeq)
Ohhh thanks for clearing that up for us! We saw it differently before you explained what really happened.fishman wrote: There are dozens upon dozens of RTP calls every year....In that game Shabazz was called when he went in on Buck (who may have been making one of the all-time worst slides I've seen), but was rightly called even though he completely let up on the hit...... the second wasn't even a tackle.....it was a shoulder check that again was flagged.....he never went near him with the helmet or even drove him to the ground......that one was ticky-tack at best.....and should not have been considered as an attempt to injure or anything.
Shabazz was guilty of being a hair late on both, but both he completely pulled up on......it's a far cry from what I believed to be the point of topic here.
Fishman, you sure you aren't a Rider fan in denial?bclions16 wrote:Ohhh thanks for clearing that up for us!
