Tonight, the Canucks begin their first pre-season game against none other than the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season: the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks roster now contains former Canuck Todd Bertuzzi. And conversely, the Canucks now have former Duck Ryan Shannon.
It wasn't too long ago at all when we used this thread that eventually spanned 46 pages.

Let's see how the Canucks do in their first pre-season game. Luongo was injured during practice, so he may not be playing.

Luongo wasn't scheduled to play tonight anways. Naslund, Cooke, Morrison and Bertuzzi all have the night off.

Canucks lose 3-2 in OT...Anaheim scores 3:24 into OT.
McIver and a Sedin had a goal. I don't know if anyone here went to the game tonight, but I saw McIver in his lone NHL game last year against (coincidentally) the Ducks, and was not impressed. He got in a fight but in a 6-0 loss looked very lost and stood there watching the play a few times.
Guess he's turned it around.
Former Giants Brett Festerling and Brendan Mikkelson were both on defence for the Ducks.
Sanford allowed two goals, and shorty and larscheid said he looked really good tonight. mcintyre finished the game and allowed the decisive goal. next game is wednesday at home to Calgary, before hosting Edmonton thursday night at gm place.

I like the look of our team this year. We've got a crap load of injuries at the moment but I'm not too concerned, our defence is solid from top to bottom and our bottom two lines are vastly improved from last year. Naslund will bounce back and score 30 this year, mark it down. I could very easilly see us getting to the Conference Finals.
