Spelling/Grammar Police

Hope this doesn't come across as preachy or self-righteous, but there are a number of words/phrases that seem to constantly trip posters up like Aaron Lockett crossing the 30 yard line.

Artical - is actually "article" (a factual piece of writing on a specific topic).

Helmut - is a thick necked guy in Munich drinking beer from a stein. If you mean the lid on a player's head, that's "helmet."

Would Of - as in 'it would of been good if only he'd...' is actually "would have" (*cough Rammer cough*).

I got one Dickinson or Dickenson? I am confused - I have read this so many different ways including references to him at his university as recently as the past week and to his mother who I think is a State Rep to the Montana legislature.

You should try the "ourbombers.com" if you want to see bad spelling.

Joe Fleming- Flemming
Milt Stegall - Steagal, Steegal,Stegal,Steggal
Chris Brazzell - Brazell, Brazzel, Brazall
Matt Dunigan - Dunnigan, Dunnigun, Dunigun
Jim Daley - Daly, Daily, Dailey, Dalley

Mostly accompanied with that Oh so colorful dialect, only Winnipeggers can add!
I'd love you to say it to my face because you'd only say it once...if you ever had the courage to say it at all!! Blitz, 05/24/2008

That's correct.

It's would have, could have, and should have. Not would of, could of, and should of. Or if you want to use the contraction, it's would've, could've, and should've.

Both of you made another mistake here. From elementary school English:

It's = It is.
Its = Possessive form of It

If you wanted to say It is Dave Dickenson, then the proper spelling is:

It's Dave Dickenson and it's the Tyee.

Without the apostrophe, it is the possessive usage of it. For example: Here is the Grey Cup with all its glamour.

So does safe sex, in this case Charlene, involve enabling word wrap?

Chris Brazzell - Brazell, Brazzel, Brazall

The question I have is how to pronounce his name. I recall hearing it as "BRA zzell" at BC Place during player intros but I've heard Caravatta say it both ways (alt. way being "bra ZZELL", like gazelle). You figure he would have asked since it's his job.
