Robbie in our parliamentary system a PM A PM is a PM and there will be an election this spring.

Even after the writ is dropped the PM is still the PM just like Doug Ford was Premier during his election campaign.

Carney massively one every riding in the country including Chrystia Freelands MP for University-Rosedale and Karina Gould MP for Burlington.

Yes but we know what is being stated. MC will be PM but until he has a seat and until he wins a general election, the title of PM will have an asterisk. I hope he does better than some of those historical example mentioned earlier but oddly enough, a large portion of this may come down to Trump and his mercurial ways. If MC can somehow tame the beast and bring back even a little stability to the economic situation, he may be able to pull off one of the greatest political comebacks a party in this country has ever had.

Once he gets himself and a Cabinet sworn in and gets up to speed with the Premiers etc, I'm with those who think there'll be an election call and he could make your statement come true.

This is shaping up to be a serious attack on our sovereignty that went from a side bar in Trump's new world order trade by tariff policy to a Canada take over.

There is NO evidence that Trump and Musk and Navarro have any limits on them. FAA system are going to Musk with no vetting apparently putting Musk in full control like how he can turn off Starlink. These might be scarier times as all those protests in the streets of America won't get the GOP challenging their leader.

All these global tariff plans are in Project 2025 and Robert Lighthizer's proposals for a new U.S. trade policy focused on permanent tariffs to fund tax cuts for the wealthy, shifting from targeted measures to a broad economic nationalist framework targeting all nations with details in April.

The numbers who signed up and donated on hearing his name as a candidate were mind blowing now that more information comes out. Carney raised some $4.5 million from 20K individuals and the others were in 300K dollar range.


I've heard nothing but praise for Careny any others and none from my brainwashed Trudeau hating friends and friends in the NDP or those who were leaning strongly to the Conservatives.

I finally grasped why the carbon levy at the gas tank was so unpopular. Heard Clinton's former Treasury Sec talking gas prices a week or so ago and he stated that if there is one place Americans know the price and increases it's the gas tank. Finally sunk in.

If gas goes down at the local Petro station here in the Westwood Plateau, you know it's a price drop by the cars lined up that on a full tank of gas saves the price of a Starbucks latte that people buy daily. These same folks shop at the local IGA where they don't bat an eye at milk over $7 that you can get down the hill for $5.89. I know this as I see my neighbours shopping and gassing up lol

While the next quarter payment will be made by the feds, people outside of BC will miss their rebates.

The bigger issue is that Carney has stated Canadians have an income problem -something he's grasped for years now.

LIberal Party and MPs want a basic income scheme but the pandemic killed any idea that we could shift to that during that time.

It has to come sooner than later and it's not socialism. Origins are in capitalism.
