D gives up a big play right off the bat over 40yds. Not a good sign.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Edm drive stalls, Whyte boots a 46yder wide left, Marco I returns it to the BC12 where Jennings will start his 1st series.

Why was Ianuzzi back to return the missed FG and not Rainey? A missed long FGs is a good kick returner's wet dream. Is there anything our coaches can't mess up?

2 & out and punting from just outside out own goal. Nice one from Leone to help keep Edm beyond midfield.

Interesting defensive alignment; Roh lining up as middle linebacker.

Yell breaks up the catch for another Edm 2 & out. Rainey back for the punt return but it goes nowhere.

Defensive battle through the first seven minutes. The Esks have the only first down and it came on the first play of the game.
