There were 4 Edmonton fans in my section waving the team flag. Pretty quiet the last time I saw them.

Quite a good exchange with Burns/Moj with Farhan who was not impressed nearly as much as many others on the W as he feels that Esks OFF is bad and Nicholls not the right guy to win. He felt they should have put Franklin in.almo89 wrote:I see a lot of talk about Lulay's shoulder making his throws weak. I'm seeing just as many overthrows as underthrows. His problem seems to be touch. After the first INT the threw, he started overthrowing his receivers and it's most likely that he's scared of being picked again. Strange game overall. Nice call by Dunigan at the end on Nicols keying in on his first read.
But Chris Burns was defending Lulay and says he cannot be the same QB as that is a different shoulder now that he used to possess and it changes a lot. I totally buy it and Burns is a former OL.
I saw the Moj tumble on the sideline that he is getting hammered for but didn't that was him. My quick take is that the Moj needs to get back in the gym. He gets another HC gig and fights his coordinator in a pizza shop - he's not in his old form.
Joe Sakic interview replay on now. He was wearing a 19 lion jersey (?). Seahawk fan too and he loved the GC 1994 game vs Baltimore as it was the lockout and he was there at BC Place with his pals. Keeps his Hawks love on the QT in Denver though.

10000000000000000000000000000% agree with this!!!!swervynmerv wrote:Lulay is making mistakes but that drop by Gore in inexcusable when they needed a TD. He should be sat next game. It's time for this coach to start sending some messages.
Next up is iannuzzi though, time to see what he can do???

As that's Edmonton's entire offensive game plan, it shouldn't really be a surprise.almo89 wrote: Nice call by Dunigan at the end on Nichols keying in on his first read.

Concur. Let's not forget that Lulay was never noted as an exceptionally accurate passer in the first place. He still needs to be better and I continue to wonder why he is throwing in double coverage or other situations where there is little chance of a completion.CardiacKid wrote:Lulay has had how much game action in almost 2 years?!?! It was a scant 3 weeks ago we (the collective we) were singing his praises and declaring he had returned to the Lulay of old. Probably too early to be enthusiastic then, just as it was too early to throw him under the bus now.
Let's remember this Eskimo team had not given up a single TD for 2 games. Then the Lions score 3 in one game. Was it all Travis? Of course not but would this have been a win if Travis was sitting on the bench? IMO this would have been a loss.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

I noticed a lot more visiting team jersey-clad fans than normal last night for an Edm game. No doubt they were buoyed by their team's great start to the season to show up and they probably stood out even more against the relatively slim helping of home team supporters.TheLionKing wrote:There were 4 Edmonton fans in my section waving the team flag. I was fully expecting a sub-20k crowd last night (20,316 officially) and it looked to me like a smaller crowd in the stands than was there for the Argo game which was announced at 20,085. It was pretty sparse in the end zone opposite the dressing rooms. Seemed like a lot of no-shows plus I wonder how many of those STHs freebies were redeemed for this one to boost the official count.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Heard only 15,000 showed up

Which one of your alter egos told you that?
Lower bowl seats 27,500. 15K would mean almost every other seat sat empty. That CLEARLY was not the case. If you weren't there in person, watch it on TV. Granted, lots of empty endzone seats, but many blocks of mostly full sections between the goal lines.

Well, can't argue with the "Brother"...we all know that men of the cloth never, ever lie. Nor are they bad at math.
