Nice report EM, accept Ianuzzi didn't play last week in pre-season due to an injury so he might not play against Calgary either and so Foster may start instead.

I found the analysis odd. First, why would we single out Iannuzzi when referring to the receiving corps? He's hardly our most dangerous receiver and might not even play, as DanoT mentioned. Second, the recommendation that Calgary go with both quarterbacks in the same game seems off-the-mark to me (unless the starter gets hurt, of course). And his playing up our D-line seems off, given their play so far, and the question marks that remain. Finally, does the Calgary D have a rep for over-aggression? News to me.

I agree with you but I think he meant our D-line is over-aggressive , not their D . He suggested Stamps take advantage of our over-aggression with deception . He does seem to be out of touch somewhat with what has happened so far in BC's preseason . Our D-line hasn't shown anything impressive yet and calling our O-line very good seems premature IMO . Our O-line may become very good still with our new guys + a rejuvenated slimmer and trimmer Kabongo , but that sill remains to be seen . I expect some growing pains still to come . Our D-line only features 1 true DT\NT in Eric Taylor , the rest are really more DE types , if it's true that Westerman has lost as much weight as reported . Who rotates in for Taylor ? What if he's injured ? Sounds like our D-line could get worn down .South Pender wrote:I found the analysis odd. First, why would we single out Iannuzzi when referring to the receiving corps? You're right; I viewed it again. But when did our D get the rep of being overaggressive?pennw wrote:I agree with you but I think he meant our D-line is over-aggressive , not their D.
Right again. I wonder whether the braintrust has considered giving Kevin Huntley a look.pennw wrote:Our D-line only features 1 true DT\NT in Eric Taylor, the rest are really more DE types, if it's true that Westerman has lost as much weight as reported . I'm obvously looking forward to this game BUT
I'm also looking forward quite a bit to the new stadium in Bomberville. I catch every CFL game I can but this will be one I want to catch even though I'm wondering if the Bombers will have much to offer......

DO NOT JUDGE BY PRE SESON, PRE SEASON IS FOR COACHES NOT US FANS. The D game plan against Edmonton was as vanilla as vanilla could be, and that included the D line, with lots of players being shUFFLED in and out. hear in the land of GREEN ARCERS OF ARCRES, after the EDMONTON game the D line was the best ( Chickthe Foley ) that had ever played in the CFL and a 100 sack season was guarantedeed. Against Calgary ( they vanished into THE GREAT GOPHER LAIDEN ABYSS ) and doom clowds once again spread across the land . Our d line did pritty well against Calgary in the first quarter of that game . Let's get the regular season started I think we'll sonn see that our d line and line backing core will be one of the strongest in the CFL

...hard to say where we are at, exactly, as we are now hearing about some early injuries...:0(
....with new players in the secondary, ya hope that they've had time to build enough chemistry at this point....combined with the unhoped for injuries, it could be dicey tomorrow....
...or, we may see the guys rally because they know all the cylinders aren't available yet, and kill out there!!
...Personally, I like our chances...
