Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

The difference between average teams and champions is, the winners overcome mistakes they make early in the game, and always play 60 minutes of football to overcome.

Another short kick and a 15 yards penalties.
Re: Game Day Thread- Stamps vs. Lions
Is it just me or do we take WAY too many NY penalties?

Make it 17-0 barely 5 mins in.

The Lions didn't come to play.
They sent the right message to the offense cutting K Johnson as MLF noted = however o didn't get it.
They suck so far.

This is the worst start I can recall for a Lions team.

Re: Game Day Thread- Stamps vs. Lions
This was a bit weird.. ice footballs and ice your hands. Weird is what player called it.
It sure did nothing to prepare the top team in the CFL.
This might be a good wake up call.
Your O is not plug and play. You have opponents.
You must come to play - heads in the game.
I know the game means nothing but in football no game is nothing as it gives you or takes away momentum. Bad timing to lose it.
