Re: Just thought I would share Cam Wake

That is awesome. Thanks ...

Watching Cam up here was so cool. He ran everywhere ... onto the practice field ... off the practice field.

If he wasn't running, he was jumping over stuff ... like a stacked pile of standup blocking pads about 5 feet high and 10 feet across ... LOL I was watching him at Training Camp. He saw this pile, walked towards it, jumped, pulled up his feet, and floated across, just like it wasn't even there. LOL

He was a phenom from Day 1. The word got out fast from other players about this big guy who could jump over the moon. And then the first game ... three sacks. And it never stopped.

That picutre should incorporate some real work boots, and identify the CFL in another manner, he was all business here and there. Can you imagine having that talent/ability and someone letting you go, you would have to wonder what you have to improve in order to make it. Glad that he received the contract that reflects the ability/effort that Cam Wake brings to his club.

Re: Just thought I would share Cam Wake

I try not to start new threads so I thought I post this here.....

Cam Wake is scheduled to be on todays 'TOTAL ACCESS' a NFL football news show shown on the NFL network (for those who have it). I haven't had a chance to catch it yet myself (I think it repeats at 8 PM and then again starting at midnight). Maybe worth a look. Might have something to say about the CFL? I don't know, I'm gonna watch it. I always try to see how ex-CFLers are doing in the NFL.

Re: Just thought I would share Cam Wake

From all the media reports that caption is not a surprise as this guy always sounded like a humble, proud guy who knows that in sport that chances to show your skills are not always there and that things can be taken away quickly.

If you look at those who have gone from the CFL to the NFL I doubt there is one player in that mix who would diss the CFL as being one of the keys to their success in the NFL.

Joe Theismann has always said even years back that the CFL taught him more than what he could have learned sitting on the bench in the NFL.

Warren Moon is very similar. There was a fantastic Moj interview with Warren Moon where the Moj secretly patched in Tom Wilkinson and that produced some funny stuff. Moon also advised Casey Printers to stay in the CFL before he went south and do what he had done. I believed that too and believe that the lost Printers career was due to that ill fated decision to go to the Chiefs. Printers invoked Moon as the model but sadly someone like his agent should have told him that he was no Warren Moon even with this 2004 MOP. Moon had vastly more experience and also went with a HC who valued him.

Cam Wake was a special player who was overlooked as I am sure many, many good athletes are in team sports where there is judgment involved unlike track or tennis or golf where the results speak for themselves. He seems to be a guy well grounded and appreciative of the good things in his life and to go along with all that has a great talent for football.

Re: Just thought I would share Cam Wake

Okay segment, I guess. Nothing wrong with Cam or what he said/did. He was todays facility tour guide. Every day NFL network gets a tour of a different teams training facility and today was the Dolphins. I mean training camp doesn't start until the end of the month but lots of guys are already in there working out and getting ready for the season. Most of these NFL teams seem to have pretty similar training facilities. As this season of Hard Knocks is being hosted by the Dolphins, I'm sure it will be worth a look here or there. Wake does look like he's all calm but still ready to go. Hope he has a great season........
