Solly El is day to day.
Amara Kamara is a possible replacement. As is Joe Henderson, Adam Bighill or James Yurichuk.

Re: Sol E Injury...
Give him the week off. The Riders look like they have quit on the season, even if they still have a very slim mathematical shot at the cross over. We should be able to win easily even with Sol-E in street clothes. No sense risking injury. In fact I hope that the Lions will be smart about getting Lulay and other starters some rest if the game gets out of reach for the Riders.

Re: Sol E Injury...
I'm not sure when Solly's contract option year starts/ends but Lions could eventually lose him to the NFL, so now might be a good opportunity to audition his eventual replacement and let him heal up for now and be ready for the game against Esks.
Re: Sol E Injury...
I would rest Elimimian and dress James Yurichuk. As for the NI issue, Arakgi could be his NI backup.
YMMV.

I think that SolE came in under the new 2 year contracts of the CFL and is finished that after this season.DanoT wrote:I'm not sure when Solly's contract option year starts/ends but Lions could eventually lose him to the NFL, so now might be a good opportunity to audition his eventual replacement and let him heal up for now and be ready for the game against Esks.

Damian Durant has a broken foot and riderfans are calling for Cole Bergquist to get some minutes. It'd be just like old times Montana State's Lulay v. Montana's Bergquist.pennw wrote: At any rate I still would not discount the Riders , we barely got by the Stamps whereas we beat them handily last time, likewise the Esks . I don't see the Riders being as easy a cakewalk next time round either , they could be due another win yet too and I expect we'll lose at least one game down the stretch also .Would be nice to run the table though...as long as it continues on in the playoffs.

If he is hobbling as LU says, he ain't playing because he would be useless. The play offs for the Lions is more important than risking his injury despite what the player might want. There is pressure to play in the pros... big pressure both from the team and the player.DJeffery wrote:Damian Durant has a broken foot and riderfans are calling for Cole Bergquist to get some minutes. That Rider game was 4 am my time but I thought I saw some good stuff with Cole B when he played vs BC in pre season in Van.

Arakgi is the Lions' special-teams captain but he hasn't had a special-teams tackle in a month and seems to be doing his best to avoid contact as a blocker or tackler, other than when he took a holding penalty in Regina last month, his only appearance on the stat sheet since Sept. 10. I don't know if he's nursing an injury but as an on-field spectator for the past four games, he is a big part of the team's key problem and is unworthy of consideration for extra playing time on defence.Solar Max wrote:I would rest Elimimian and dress James Yurichuk. Funny how this type of game is exactly what can bring a 7 win streak to a conclusion. I hope that the Lions go about business as usual and don't look at the standings, as this game is the easiest one to win down the stretch and they cannot afford to let this one go.

At one time IMO Arakgi was an ST demon. They looked at him at safety, a new, seemingly poor fit for him. He failed. He might be sulking, down in the dumps. They considered making him a receiver.B.C.FAN wrote: Arakgi is the Lions' special-teams captain but he hasn't had a special-teams tackle in a month and seems to be doing his best to avoid contact as a blocker or tackler, other than when he took a holding penalty in Regina last month, his only appearance on the stat sheet since Sept. 10.
