There's only one D in Odell because he's the most one dimensional player in the league. I
t's nice to have 8 sacks, but only 4 other tackles? That's embarassing. How is it possible for 1D Willis to manage less than one tackle per game? Didn't anybody tell him he's allowed to tackle someone other than the QB? Or is he afraid of getting trucked by a RB?
Watch what happens on Saturday with 1D Willis - - the guy has zero concept of contain and once the play gets past the line of scrimmage don't ever expect to see him make any attept at downfield pursuit. If Jock Chapdelaine had half a brain he'd run at him and take advantage of 1D Willis with a few screen passes. I won't hold my breath on that happening though.

Laughable attempt at trying to trash talk a guy like Willis. Especially when I point out the obvious, which is that he's got 3 times as many tackles as you suggest. He has 12, not 4.
C'MON MAN! I know you can do better than that!

He does not have 12 all-purpose tackles. He has 4 tackles, with 8 sacks added in, as OP suggested.

Incorrect.
Sacks are not counted as tackles in CFL.ca stats.

And just so I can prove what I'm saying is true:
If what you were saying is correct, it would be impossible for him to have a stat line of 0 tackles and 1 sack. But he does this year. John Bowman also has a stat line of 1 tackle and 2 sacks this year.

Who'd have thought we would have an Argos fan and a Bomber fan fighting it out on the Lions site? Keep going guys it's entertaining and who cares who wins

No fighting from me, but if we're going to rag on the guy, at least present correct facts.

At any rate Willis has a long way to go before he gets into the hall of fame .

Re: Odell "1D" Willis
Willis has better sack totals than this poster's hero - so it is fitting that he finds a way to dis the guy - fits his m.o. perfectly and totally predictable.

Really?
Maybe you should take a look at the CFL rulebook - - Section 18 Subsection A: "Tackles are credited on all plays that end with a ball carrier being stopped by contact, including Quarterback Sacks".
http://cfldb.ca/rulebook/statistical-sc ... s/tackles/
I realize there isn't much of an education system in Swaggerville, so I'll help you out with the math...
1D Willis has 12 tackles
1D Willis has 8 sacks
12 - 8 = 4
So aside from QBs, 1D Willis has tackled four other players on the year.

Re: Odell "1D" Willis
Instead of resorting to insults, why don't you just look at his statistics for the year and tell me if what you're saying is true, how he's had a game with 0 tackles and 1 sack?
Re: Odell "1D" Willis
Believe it or not, this debate fascinated me so I did some research. As often happens in statistical debates, it turns out you're both right to an extent (or both wrong, if you prefer).
The league counts a sack as a tackle if it ends the play. Willis has 3 sacks that resulted in forced fumbles recovered by other people. On those plays, he is credited with a sack and forced fumble but someone else was credited with the tackle that eventually ended the play. Hence his stat line in Game 4 vs. Toronto of 0 tackles and 1 sack.
Willis in fact has 8 sacks and 7 regular tackles, something you won't find in the league stats without digging deeper. If you're keeping score at home, here are the raw numbers from the final, corrected league stats:
Game 1 vs. Hamilton:
3 sacks, 1 other tackle. Credited with 4 tackles.
Game 2 vs. Toronto:
2 sacks, 0 other tackles. Credited with 2 tackles.
Game 3 vs. Calgary:
2 sacks (1FF), 1 other tackle. Credited with 2 tackles.
Game 4 vs. Toronto:
1 sack (FF), 0 other tackles. Credited with 0 tackles.
Game 5 vs. B.C.:
1 sack, 2 other tackles. Credited with 3 tackles.
Game 6 vs. Edmonton:
1 sack (FF), 1 other tackle. Credited with 1 tackle.

Hope the Lions take advantage of Willis' aggressiveness by running counters to his side or screens.

I don't care how many dimensions he has or how many tackles he has. He's a dominant player on a top team whereas the Argos are a bunch of schoolgirls.
Is this the best you can do?

Where do the Argos suddenly come into discussion on this topic?
We're talking about a one dimensional pass rusher in this topic - - 1D Willis. It's great to see that he's got 8 sacks, but the inability to provide any kind of run defence and no skills to drop into coverage speak volumes about his overall game. Teams with a smart QB and decent OLine will easily neutralize 1D Willis.
Much like the baseball player who gets 85 SBs and hits 2 HR and 35 RBI.
Or the hockey player who piles up 300 PIM and can only manage 1G and 3A.
But I guess it's understandable for Winnipeg fans to be a bit delusional at this point with their team at 5-1, considering the Bombers haven't won anything in over 20 years. Incidentally, the longest streak of current futility in the CFL.
