Go to Team 1410 where the Lions are.MacNews wrote:I turned on The TEAM 1040, but it's Mariners baseball??
Try 1410. Wally didn't say much in the post game interview.MacNews wrote:I turned on The TEAM 1040, but it's Mariners baseball??
Good move. Can you imagine having to talk about that debacle? Or having to listen to it?MacNews wrote:I turned on The TEAM 1040, but it's Mariners baseball??
Absolutely brutal considering that the Lions were working on that facet of the game all week. I wonder how Angus Reid is feeling after his tweet that the running game will be improved.Toppy Vann wrote:8 runs for 56 yards.
Harris - 4/26 with 12 yards coming on the draw play to end the half.
Robertson 3/27.
Lulay 1/3.

Lions had 3 possessions in the 1st Q and not one run of the ball. NOT 1.
If you really care about the direction that this team is going / or not going in you must speak to this administration by withholding your support from the team in gate sales.Rammer wrote:I agree, empty seats speaks way louder than this loyal fanbase.longtimefan wrote:Bad?? definitely....Question is will David Braley finally step in and say something? That will be the only way that anything will change unless Wally throws Chaps under the bus and I doubt that. Next week will see fewer bums occupying seats and revenue disappearing. That is the only message that will make an impact. Braley can't be happy. Hopefully something of some significance will happen and it won't be players disappearing under the wheels.

I was expecting the Lions to have enough game film on the Esks now to exploit a few areas, but I should have known better given our coaching.Whisperin' Jimmy wrote:Someone asked before, sarcastically, if anyone was surprised by this loss. Well, I am. I honestly think we can be a lot better. We hung in wih Montreal and Calgary, and you could point to a few plays - dropped passes in Game 1, missed tackles in Game 2 - that could have turned things around.
After the first half today, I despaired. But the second half was better, and once more a single bad play (the Lulay IT) sunk us.
So, now? A good performance and a win against the Ti-Cats could still turn this thing around. The run showed belated signs of life, Geroy showed heart, Travis has the guts. I don't think we are as comprehesively bad as the Riders, and we never looked so thoroughly beaten as them today.
I admit, this 'almost-good-enough' business is wearing thin. We have to stop coming out so tentatively. In fact, we seem to play better once it's too late, which tells me the coaching is not bringing the guys into the opening kickoff properly prepared.
So here's my prediction. Wally will shake up the coaching staff, and thing will have turned around by Game Six if not sooner. Also, you will get a sunburn before September. Trust me!
Easy for me to say, as I will only be in Vancouver for one game this year... but I don't agree that staying away from the game is good for the franchise. It's been a long haul to get the Lions back to a point where people in the lower mainland care about the Lions. Empty seats will breed apathy in a Canuck crazy market. Better Lions fans pack the place, but spend the game chanting "Chap must go" non-stop. That's what NY Giants fans did year back when they were sick and tired of their head coach, Ray Handley. It worked.PigSkin_53 wrote:If you really care about the direction that this team is going / or not going in you must speak to this administration by withholding your support from the team in gate sales.Rammer wrote:I agree, empty seats speaks way louder than this loyal fanbase.longtimefan wrote:Bad?? definitely....Question is will David Braley finally step in and say something? If this means risking the team’s financial stability so be it, we have been in that situation before and we have always survived and will again.
Where are the Waterboys when you need them???
That might have worked in a huge market like NY in the NFL, but its like comparing apples to oranges in the CFLBelize City Lion wrote: Easy for me to say, as I will only be in Vancouver for one game this year... but I don't agree that staying away from the game is good for the franchise. OTHO, it could be the product of the team with a wide lead easing up in which case appearances are misleading.Whisperin' Jimmy wrote: In fact, we seem to play better once it's too late,!
100% true, playing prevent D's is a distinct possibility which seems to help the Lions numbers. Edmonton definitely had the Lions plays in hand in the first half. Lions suggest an adjustment was done, but by then the damage had been done.Oiler wrote:OTHO, it could be the product of the team with a wide lead easing up in which case appearances are misleading.Whisperin' Jimmy wrote: In fact, we seem to play better once it's too late,!
