But Ted Gerela did more than just kick the ball. When he retired after the 1973 season he also had 2 interceptions as a backup DB, 16 carries for 82 yards as a backup fullback, and as a kick returner he had 19 kickoff returns for 227 yards and 3 punt returns for 15 yards. He won the CFL West scoring title in 1968 with 30 FGs which at the time was a single-season record in professional football.
