Hi guys,
I am here in Redmond Washington at my conference and my buddy and I are stoked to see some CFL BC Lion football! We got our tickets and can't wait to take it all in!! If anyone wants to meet and say hi to me (Jeff) and my co-worker Carlos. Let me know. I would love to talk some football! I know the Lions are struggling a bit, but I am a Dolphins fan so I certainly understand how that goes.... The season still has plenty to go though.
btw, it looks like Cameron Wake is gonna earn the starting spot this year on the Dolphins. Can't wait to watch that beast layin hits again!

There are several players who can make the jump to the CFL:MikeBerardino CFL scout/gm is back again. Gonna do some real
poaching once the turk stops by!
Tristan Davis, Marlon Moore, Roberto Wallace, JD Folsom, Erik Walden.
Oddly, no offencive lineman though, maybe Andrew Hartline or Lydon Murtha.
Two way street, enjoy the game Bro.

I think you'll really like the atmosphere at Empire Field. Odds are excellent that the weather will be great too. The CFL game is one of a kind! Twice the action of the NFL, twice the hits of the NFL too. Some of the catches by receivers are world class in this league too. You'll see the Lions in their 1976 retro uniforms too. I think you'll like them. The logo is BC Lions perfection! Mean, classic, modern, sharp on the black helmet too. It hits all of the targets a logo designer wants to hit. I recently bought a retro 70's Lion hat, via the CFL web site, and I'm amazed at how many people look two or three times at the logo when I walk past them on the street. It's started a few conversations too. So many older fans remember this logo fondly. You might want to buy a hat or retro jersey at the game too! I think you'll agree that the uniforms are excellent.

Right on bud! I'm setting my sights on the September 11th afternoon game against Toronto, next, but I might find a way to make the Saturday game at the last second. I know a place downtown that sells tickets electronically. (Below the White Spot restaurant on Seymour street & Georgia street.) If I do I'll be on the look out for a Dolphins hat at the game! The Lion's will be intense. Especially the offence. They've got to be sick & tired of the written & spoken concerns about the offence. Watch for Geroy Simon to have a monster game! Also August 27th Jerry Tagge is apparently making an appearance. I just bought a Jerry Tagge #8 1970's retro jersey so i'll be at that game for sure! Tagge was my first sports idol as a kid growing up in Vancouver in the seventies. He was the leader of the famed 1977 "Cardiac Kids" Lions team that went 10-6 and got to one game of the Grey Cup. (Eskimos were way too much in the frozen Western Final that year.)

P.S. Changes will be made on offence if the group falls short of expectations again. The offensive co-ordinator (Jacques Chapdelaine) will be under the gun to succeed on Friday. Good candidates are out there to replace him. This isn't a picnic. It's work. If a job doesn't get done then people get fired.

Make sure you go early and head over to the huge lot 9 tailgate party.
Now lets hope the rain keeps up.

Yeah, hardly a thimble of rain in weeks and now this on gameday.Lionheart wrote:Make sure you go early and head over to the huge lot 9 tailgate party.

On the bright side, no need to get the sunscreen on for a two hour bake in the east side stands.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
