Fd45 would make a great coach."oh my God, what do we do now!!!!....Or maybe he could be Titanics captain..."oh my God, what do we do now?...how about Canada's Prime Minister..."oh my God, what do we do now?...WW2 general Oh my god, what do we do now?
Casey Printers will know.
Wally will deal with it. Training camp is looking good.

Re: CKNW - Logan signs with Steelers
Oh my God! Are you friggin' kidding me?! This is probably the worst news of this entire off-season so far. Logan was going to be a huge part of our offence this year, now what? It makes the shabby treatment of Joe last year look even more ridiculous because the man we traded him for is gone and the man that supposedly was deemed "better" is gone now too. Would've been nice to have a bit of an insurance policy, eh Wally? Our offence is in deep trouble now if we're not able to replace the homerun threat the Logan gave us.
All that being said though, good luck to you Stef! One of the nicest and most genuine guys on the team, he played his ass off for us last year and deserves this opportunity. It was a pleasure to meet you at Sports N Stuff and it was fun to watch you dart around at practice and bring us out of our seats under the dome. Thanks for one helluva season Stefan and you'll be sorely missed by the Lions and by the fans!

I can't see Ian Smart getting the starting spot, he's more of a Special teams guy, hopefully the Leos uncovers a hidden gem at one of their U.S. F.A. camps. The only RB out there is Jessie Lumsden, I know everyone seems to think he is Edmonton bound but Wally might have to make a play for him or we are screwed.
Re: CKNW - Logan signs with Steelers
Lumsden was on the Lions radar at the draft table, he was selected just ahead of us or Wally would have called his name. With a ton of cap room now, the Lions could well become a destination for him. If he is healthy, he is the only NI that can contribute at an I rate as a TB.Dan wrote:I can't see Ian Smart getting the starting spot, he's more of a Special teams guy, hopefully the Leos uncovers a hidden gem at one of their U.S. F.A. camps. Re: CKNW - Logan signs with Steelers
might be worth the gamble considering we do have someone who can run if required in Ian Smart. However, Lumsden running style is the opposite direction of which Wally seems to be taking this team (large power through compared to scat back)Dan wrote:I can't see Ian Smart getting the starting spot, he's more of a Special teams guy, hopefully the Leos uncovers a hidden gem at one of their U.S. F.A. camps. Somewhere down south there is a rb that has never heard of the BC Lions that will come here in June, make the team and run for 1000 yards. RB is not our biggest concern.Spud387 wrote:might be worth the gamble considering we do have someone who can run if required in Ian Smart. Why should you care ? Your mother doesn't watch football and she take you to the games.firstdown45 wrote:What the hell is going on here?
Talk about a sinking ship.
It's more imperative than ever now that the Lions ink Casey Printers.

Re: CKNW - Logan signs with Steelers
Didn't the Lions sign some Canadian free agent guy out of Junior ball?; maybe he could get a real shot to compete for some work at tailback .... just kiddin'. But hey - running backs are a "dime a dozen" according to some expert scouts; there will be plenty of new import guys to bring in for a look; and i doubt Wally gives much consideration to that Lumsden guy - more suited for fullback in the CFL and the Lions already have Lumballa & Bwenge who won't get any real shot as regular ball carrying RBs.Dan wrote:I can't see Ian Smart getting the starting spot, he's more of a Special teams guy, hopefully the Leos uncovers a hidden gem at one of their U.S. F.A. camps. And as far as CFL teams being dinged big-time by NFL raids in an off-season before - the 97 GC Champs Argos lost: Reggie Givens, Mike Kiselak, Mike Vanderjagt and some guy named Flutie to the NFL.
Good, smart teams replace players they lose thru good, sharp scouting and also have talented young guys on the roster ready to step in.

Re: CKNW - Logan signs with Steelers
I wouldn't mind seeing Jesse in there, more as a power back than a fullback. Though his number is already taken by another fullback, some guy named Lyle, who's put in more games as a Lion than Smith, Logan, Lumballa & Bwenge put together. He'd need a new number - how about 32?OV - 54:40 wrote:Didn't the Lions sign some Canadian free agent guy out of Junior ball?; maybe he could get a real shot to compete for some work at tailback .... just kiddin'.
