So whats the word on who will start at QB?
Buck or Jarious?

I think Champion should start, it would totally throw-off Sask.

Buck should get the nod. I am comfortable with JJ too. The point is somewhat moot since the game will be won/lost on the line. We need to beat the tar out of them on the line. We lost the line battles last year in the WF--on O and D. Murphy, Wake, Johnson, Sherko, et al better be in an extremely ornery mood in order for us to succeed. Let's beat the tar out of them like we can Lions! I honestly think our boys can do it!!!

Buck Pierce should start this game. He has been our starter for the second half of the season, he's game ready, and he is the guy who the players will be most comfortable with to start the game against Regina. Jackson didn'[t play last game, has more rust on him, and while he played great in his last outing, you go with the guy who has played the most before the playoffs. We got into trouble by staring Dickenson in the 2004 Grey Cup and the 2005 Western Final when he had too much rust on him, as he did last year when he was inserted.
However, Jarious has played enough to go into this game if our offence is not performing well and he brings a different style that could be advantageous, depending on how the Riders are playing defence.
Buck is also a faster starter than Jarious. However, as the game wears on Buck's ankle could become more sore and that could effect his throws. I just think we should have Buck on a shorter rope than is normally the case...esepcially if he gets banged up.
The way the Riders play defence will also be a factor. If they are allowing us the short underneath stuff then Buck is the guy to get it done. However, if they play us tight underneath, and I'm anticipating Richie Hall will, and Buck can't go over the top or is inaccurate with his deeper throws we should consider geting Jarious in there.
Another situation we'll need to look at is the blitz. If the Riders bring the blitz inside, knowing that Buck's mobility is more limited, we have to see whether Buck is successful in beating the blitz. If he is....you obviously leave him in, if they are getting pressure and we are struggling to overcome it, then you put Jarious, who is more mobile in there.
Weather conditions are also a factor. If there is a huge wind, we need to look at that as well, due to Jarious very strong arm.
For the quarterback position for this game, you start Buck and you assess the situation but prepare Jackson to play. It's one game elimination and you can't be worrying about anyone's feelings.

I agree with Blitz , Buck starts of course , but if a change is needed to get something going then do it before it's to late to win .

Hail, wind, sleet, rain, snow.....Buck is the best choice
I'd love you to say it to my face because you'd only say it once...if you ever had the courage to say it at all!! Blitz, 05/24/2008

A quick review of the last game is all Sask. will need to see that taking away the short middle of the field is key to getting Buck off his game. Jarious has always held the edge in deep throws. I agree Buck gives us better consistency and a better chance at winning so he should start, but if they play us like Calgary did get JJ in there. JJ has proved he is effective off the bench.Blitz wrote:

I think i should get the nod. I'm injury free! Plus, there is no one on the lions that hates the riders like i do.

Trade for Casey Printers and have him start. It would be fun watching him make chicken salad from chicken feathers.

Since this a Lions based Fanboard, I'll say Buck should start.
BUT, I think the title of this thread could apply equally to our Greenemies!?!? NO? They have three guys who have been given the ball and none have looked that great, IMO. Bishop is my guess but really I don't care. Durant is the best of their bench, IMO.
