Dear Tim Donovan...

Image

Could you give it a rest every now and then? If I wanted to be screamed at for 3 and a half hours straight, I'd have stayed married to whats-her-face.

Seriously, pick your times, and tones of voice. Every down on D (and I realize there were a LOT last night) yelling about Noise makes you downright painful. We're paying attention to the play, honest.

And for those who attend Lions games just to be seen (like the people who showed up in the 3rd quarter and sat in front of us), they aren't going to scream anyway.

/rant off.

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...

I didn't notice Donovan during the game last night, and haven't for several games. IMO, he has toned it down a lot this year.

More due to the game than lack of encouragement from the announcer, the crowd was dead for the most part. Not much could have been done to encourage people to make more noise.

You were married to her too? Oh you mean Donovan. Guess I need to learn selective hearing again, used to be quite good at it once.

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...

Please understand all Lionbackers, Donovan only does as the club/Wally want him to do. He is creating an ungodly amount of noise during the oppositions huddle, the guise that he is inspiring the crowd is merely the schtick.

Good point Rammer, but after getting home last night late, the only breakable that isn't broken here is this computer.

So a good Donovan rant is therapeutic right now. 8)

I don't care for it either, less so when the D doesn't bother to take advantage of his schtick and the fans energy to give them the noise they seem to want. There really is no reason to lose on home field turf, that we are doing so on a consistent basis cannot be a good sign of the near future of this teams core group, IMHO.

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...

I totally agree with Solar Max on this one. My tolerance of Tim Donavan is wearing very thin. Everytime I hear him on Rock 101 I expect him to be yelling into the mike.

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...

Unfortunatly, the Tim Donovan's of this world seem to be in every stadium :bang: and that's why bringing a radio to the game and listening to the PBP coverage is one solution to help drown out the never ending noise of the paid mouthpiece.

As you get older and more married, your tolerance for shrill noises can become somewhat diminished. 8)

Every play on D though, MacNews? Just asking.

Unfortunately, here in Edmonton the paid mouthpiece and the PBP coverage are two sides of the same coin. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...

Meh, if u gotta complain about that guy you just arent making enough noise.....I'm yelling all game, except the offensive huddle, so i never heard the guy. I make myself somewhat deaf at each game. and blowing my horn helps as well.

Maybe with more exposure, you hear him more?

I realize the guy is there to stir things up for the club; I just think that sometimes we know when to stir ourselves.

Tim is a great announcer and I understand that's his job. Maybe a little subtlety might be appropriate from time to time though?
