Another master stroke by Tillman. This guy can do no wrong. I thought he was just a red-haired pissant, but he has been a consistent winner and Grey Cup champ wherever he goes (the Renegades weren't his fault  .) Bishop will probably rip up the Lions defence in the upcoming series, which has struggleed against the long bomb, running QB's (and crossing patterns, too), which is Bishop's modus operendi. I'm sure Tillman was thinking of this when he made this trade. Perhaps the Lions can only hope the Ti-Cats go back in the tank, so they can secure that crossover playoff spot.

Why does IE7 consistently refuse to play youtube vids?

Thank goodness for Firefox.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Re: Michael Bishop traded to Saskatchewan

Have any of you Lions fans seen the latest out of Saskatchewan? Darian Durant gave an interview today in which he was royally ticked off with the Bishop acquisition. Durant said that he has been told that Bishop is now "the guy" and Durant hinted that he may leave Saskatchewan when his contract expires at the end of this season. Marcus Crandell will likely be released in the coming days which won't sit well with many Riders as he is a popular figure over there. Durant says that Crandell is like a "brother figure" to him. Anyway, there has to be some concern about team chemistry in Saskatchewan now with the latest moves at QB.

Re: Michael Bishop traded to Saskatchewan

Wasn't there an SMS reason for Durant not being re-signed yet? I can't recall exactly where I read that rumour, but perhaps there is something to it; we know that Tillman will be under intense pressure to be $200,000 or less over the SMS this year, or he'll lose a draft pick.

Maybe he'll re-sign before the end of the year, and it's all moot.

Bishop or Jyles will start this week, and assuming Durant is ready, he will start next week.

Durant was reacting in a moment of sorrow and his interview showed that.

I doubt the Riders will see Durant again this season. Once Bishop gets rolling he will be annointed as the starter...and no way they pull Bishop to make DD the starter because of his hurt feelings. He will have to bide his time and wait for a Bishop injury or struggle to get back in there.

Tillman said on RV that he and Miller agreed that no matter what Bishop does, he will start in the Banjo Bowl.

Tillman doesn't usually lie about gameday stuff on RV.

that shouldnt take long, have you seen bishop play this year? The guy throws picks left right and centre. he couldnt hit arland bruce on a fly pattern, how is he gonna hit the riders leftovers?? Maybe if they still had flick and dominguez and fantuz. but i dont think palmer and dressler are gonna scare too many defenses. Bishop is a cry baby, he'll sulk as soon as durant is the starter again.

Bishop has thrown a whopping 1 pick this season.

No need to get stats in the way of illogical reasoning though right?

Yeah I could see him working at Old Navy in Metrotown....
I'd love you to say it to my face because you'd only say it once...if you ever had the courage to say it at all!! Blitz, 05/24/2008

Or playing time entered into the equation, not sure that I wouldn't worry about his turnover rate if I were a Rider fan. Although I suspect that he won't throw many with the Riders, as he will be tossing short to Cates or running the ball himself for the most part. If I am Winnipeg I am loading that box, forcing him into nickle and diming me downfield.
