.The BC Lions Football Club announced today that import wide receiver Robert Ortiz and import linebacker Tim Goodwell have signed with the team.
Ortiz comes to the Lions by way of the Seattle Seahawks after being released by the NFL club prior to the regular season. Prior to an NFL Europa stint with Frankfurt in 2006, Ortiz spent four years at San Diego State and racked-up 137 receptions for 1,620 yards and 13 touchdowns over 45 games.
Goodwell joins the Black and Orange after attending training camp with the Green Bay Packers this past August and a season with Berlin of NFL Europa. The University of Memphis grad finished his four-year collegiate career with 249 tackles (21 for a loss), seven sacks and three forced fumbles. As a senior in 2005 he led the team in tackles with 102 starred in the 2005 Motor City Bowl
