That is a huge blow (little play on words there) for Vancouver period. The Dome is just getting ready for its busy season. With the exception of a couple of days it is booked every day from the 3rd week in January until April 15. Not only could it be a huge economic blow to BC Place Corp itself if it can't be fixed it also could cost the hospitality industry millions over the next few months if those events can't still be held in the Dome or relocated.Jim Mullin wrote:more to come

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
I'm sure that a little crazy glue and an air pump will be able to piece things together, still - it must be a surreal sight.-
