Ball without stripes ?!

Anybody see the drivel on 13th man about the CFL nixing the stripes from the ball starting next year ? This story started in Toronto of course so take it with a massive, planet-sized grain of salt.

I'd like to see the article that states this. Not just some dude saying it on a board.

I don't believe it. :?

Anyone have proof? Not just the link from 13. :roll:

Maybe they'll go back to white balls with black stripes, like they did in the 50's?

Apparently while city TV was doing a report from the argos season ending sale the reporter said the current balls would be collectors items because next year they wouldn't have stripes.

I doubt the reporter new what he was talking about

I would believe a report saying the league might return to painted stripes instead of the unpopular sewn-in stripes, much like the NBA is reverting to a leather ball after trying a composite ball. I hope the CFL doesn't drop stripes altogether.

The thing i like about the stripes, is it makes the spiral look so much better. They need to keep it and quit trying to copy the NFL

Keep the stripes, just switch them to the painted on version in place until this past season when they switched to sewn on stripes, which all the QB's seemed to hate anyway ...

I say paint them long ways down the length of the ball.

white ball with brown stripes and a glowing tail on tv so we can see the flight of the ball better. SORRY!everyone i couldn't resist

Wow, new NBA ball, new CFL ball. What's next, a plastic hockey puck? :roll: Keep referee uniforms and footballs the same!!

I hope the go back to the painted stripes. I have one with the sewn on stripes from this past season and it is a little harder to throw. Your grip isn't as good. If they do go back, it's nice to have a collectors item.
