Re: Leos Argos Post Game Thoughts

Was it Varga's responsibly or was he making a tackle because some else missed it. I saw him make a couple of tackles on the strongside of the field. Varga will pursue the play and make tackles anywhere, but what I noticed most in watching the game live from the end zone (I haven't watched the TV fe...

Re: Leos Argos Post Game Thoughts

Blitz made a lot of good comments on the B.C. offensive structure and game-planning. I want to focus mainly on the defence. First, though, football is a game of momentum. In any system, players have to make plays and execute. B.C. receivers didn't help their QBs, especially early in the game. I coun...

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

As much as the oline didn't play well, but where were the quick hitters and screen passes to slow down the pass rush. Seemed like every sack the Lions gave up, Rourke/VA were waiting so long for the receivers to get open for a long pass. Also hard to blame the defense on this game. The Lions offens...

Adams has his helmet on. Rourke is in a ball cap. Looks like Adams starts the second half.

WTF was THAT defence?!
Inexcusable. Pressure defence works. Prevent defence doesn’t.

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

There were some inconsistencies in the depth chart. Terrell was added to the roster but not the depth chart. Knevel was listed as out but was on the roster and depth chart as a backup guard. 3downnation.com posted an amended depth chart with Jordan Terrell, Chris Schleuger and Ezechiel Tieide added ...

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

The Lions have released their game roster and depth chart. David Mackie is moved to the 6-game injured list. Rookie LB Jackson Taylor returns to the practice roster. Chris Schleuger comes off the 6-game list and starts at left tackle, with Kory Woodruff remaining at left guard. Rookie RB Jordan Terr...

Re: 2024 season Week 14

Going by the the 3downnation article, I'm not sure if Adams' $395,000 hard money for this year includes his $200,000 signing bonus or is in addition to it. If it includes his signing bonus, he is being paid less than $11,000 per game rather than $22,000 per game. That makes it a bit more affordable ...

Re: Leos/Als Post Game Thoughts

We live in the age of artificial intelligence. Human looking robots are no longer the stuff of science fiction. What if we could put human looking robots in stripes on the field in place of the officials. The robots could spot the football, call time in, etc. and complete the tasks of present refer...

Re: Leos/Als Post Game Thoughts

Much agreed Don Corleone, Command center should only be reversing calls on clear cut evidence that the call on the field was wrong. If no clear cut evidence the call should stand. That does not seem to be happening. On top of that most of the time there is no proper explanation by the referee, The ...

Re: Leos/Als Post Game Thoughts

The penalty on the onside kick was for Montreal offside but on review it was determined the Als weren’t offside and that a Montreal player had touched the ball in play. I didn’t have a better view of the play than the limited view shown on TSN so I can’t argue with either call. I’ve also heard fans ...

Re: 2024 season Week 14

Saskatchewan and Calgary are sinking fast in the standings. Edmonton is now just one point out of a playoff spot after a 37-16 beatdown of the Stamps in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Commonwealth. Logan Bonner threw 5 INTs in his first start for the Stamps. I feel bad for Reggie Begelton, who ha...

Re: BC at Montreal Sept. 6, 2024

One odd stat from this game: The Lions punted only once. They had 4 TDs, 3 FGs, 4 TOs and 1 punt.

Montreal had 2 TDs, 3 FGs, 2 TOs and 6 punts.

Re: BC at Montreal Sept. 6, 2024

That was an impressive win. The Lions overcame 4 turnovers to close out a 37-23 victory. The Lions outrushed the Als 188 yards to 70, with Will Stanback leading the way with 128 yards against his former team. It was the Lions’ fourth straight game with more rushing yards than their opponent. The Lio...
