Re: TEAM 1410: Lions new permanent radio home
3.) Is there any difference to have your games broadcast on a station with a 10.7 where sports is only a component, versus a station with less than a 1.0 where sports which are secondary in this market surround your product? Why yes, yes there is. Having your broadcast reach an audience at 10.7 vas...

Re: 2009-10 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
Why not? If it fits within the cap space... all they've got to lose is money. Either he plays well or he doesn't: worst case, you bench him; best case, he helps get you a few extra points in the standings. Was the same thing with Sundin: he wasn't the be-all, end-all superstar, but the team was (arg...

Re: TEAM 1410: Lions new permanent radio home
I always find this debate amusing. Personally I'm every bit as much a hockey fan as football fan and it took many, many years for football to catch up to hockey in that regard. Even at that as much as I'm a CFL and Lions' fan and Grey Cup regular the NHL still probably holds a slight edge. I'm not ...

Re: TEAM 1410: Lions new permanent radio home
You wouldn't because the Lions would have remained on the station that draws the 4.2 share, not the soon to be 0.8 share. This move is fine for the hardcores, but it will not extend the reach of the Lions brand in this market. Great point .... diehards would be tuning into BCIT radio if that's wher...

Re: TEAM 1410: Lions new permanent radio home
If you go to the team today, you'll notice a change in the website. When clicking on "Listen Live" a window will appear with a choice for either number 1040, or 1410. This will be seamless and painless. Much ado about nothing. No doubt. Why do I get the feeling that if they'd moved the Ca...

Re: 2009-10 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
A third straight win by Raycroft, this time on the road. Will he actually steal Luongo's starting job? Yes, and then Schneider will steal it from Raycroft! I mean, sure he lost tonight, but he made a TON of saves! http://i30.tinypic.com/25so3ns.jpg Sorry, you can't possibly prove that every ...

Re: TEAM 1410: Lions new permanent radio home
I knew there was a reason I stopped visiting here so often... I see from this and the Giants Dance Team/Felions bit and what not, it's the same old inferiority complex.

Re: 2009-10 Vancouver Giants Season Thread
The bad news is that the expanded Giants Dance Team has been at the expense of the Felions as at least two former popular Felions have left to join the Giants Dance Team instead. Considering the Felions have only one more game to strut their stuff this year, does it REALLY matter that much? Six hou...

Re: 2009-10 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
What amazes me is how many armchair GMs on various web forums think they know so much better than pretty much everyone actually involved in the NHL on a day-to-day basis. I don't think you'll find a single GM in the league who wouldn't trade his right arm for Luongo, or another skater who wouldn't w...

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics
I like it. They were mentioning on the news, too, that no two medals will be exactly alike, so every athlete's medal will be something unique. The Olympic and Paralympic medals are also different designs from each other. Both those facts - along with the wavy, non-flat design - are Olympic firsts.

Re: 2009-10 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
That's exactly the ones I'm referring to - the ones who would never be aware of said goings-on, but would be quick to enter this thread long enough to chastise Orca Bay if Wally WASN'T honored. Well then they should get a load of this: "To tell you the truth, I root for the Canucks now,” [Buon...

Anyone catch Mullin talking about this on The World Today, yesterday?
