#20 Montreal caught a screen pass (a forward pass) then immediately dropped the ball to the ground and kicked it , before falling on the kick to retain possession.
Shouldn't that have been challenged as an incomplete pass, since he dropped it (although intentionally) without holding it long enough to have established possession after the catch?

He didn’t drop it to ground. He punted it 2 yds. This a punt. Punter can recover his punt. All though he is technically given up possession, is he “really” giving up possession.

He put it on the ground as soon as it touched his hands, he took one step forward and kicked it , which is allowed for retaining possession as long as he didn't kick it out of bounds.
But he never had complete control after he "caught" the pass, it should have been ruled an incomplete pass
