Nathan has been added to the active roster for Sunday's game, according to Farhan.

Thanks for the heads up. Have to watch that game.
What's the likelihood of this happening and if he got grabbed off waivers, would this be part of his plan?Rourke earns $41,666 USD per week while on the Jaguars’ 53-man active roster. He had $221,000 USD guaranteed when he signed his three-year contract with Jacksonville and makes $12,000 per week on the practice squad.
https://3downnation.com/2023/12/09/jack ... ve-roster/The native of Oakville, Ont. successfully cleared waivers on that occasion but a growing number of teams could be in the market for a quarterback with injuries mounting late in the season.
Added to the 53 man active roster is not to be confused with the 48 man game roster. It remains to be seen if he actually is named to the 48 in place of Lawrence or if like last time he's the 49th man who can only step on the field if both Beathard and Lawrence are declared out for the remainder of the game.
Quite right about the 53 man roster. I suspect he will be 49th man and only see action if Lawrence is banged up some more and declared out for the game. Even then, it will be a non playing date unless Beathard is either injured and can't continue or is so ineffective that they consider him "injured" and Rourke plays.Hambone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:37 amAdded to the 53 man active roster is not to be confused with the 48 man game roster. Yes, from videos I’ve seen, Lawrence looked good in pregame warmups. Rourke will dress as the emergency third quarterback but he can only enter the game if Lawrence and Beathard are declared out for the duration of the game. At least he gets a game cheque.
The Jags offence looked lacking at times and it's not clear if the leg injury led to Trevor Lawrence missing a few passes or not.
It's like their elections, the Americans just don't like things to be equal for both teams. The exception: if the team that gets the ball first scores a touchdown on the opening possession.
OVERTIME RULES FOR NFL REGULAR SEASON
At the end of regulation, the referee will toss a coin to determine which team will possess the ball first in overtime. The visiting team captain will call the toss.
No more than one 10-minute period will follow a three-minute intermission. Each team must possess, or have the opportunity to possess, the ball.
The exception: if the team that gets the ball first scores a touchdown on the opening possession.
Sudden death play — where the game ends on any score (safety, field goal or touchdown) — continues until a winner is determined.
Each team gets two timeouts.
The point after try is not attempted if the game ends on a touchdown.
If the score is still tied at the end of the overtime period, the result of the game will be recorded as a tie.

Agreed. Watching him scramble to avoid a possible safety at the end of the 3rd quarter there were no signs his ankle was bothering. He had to make 3 hard cuts in both directions and did so instinctively with no signs of anything bothering him. He did seem to float some balls which is a tendency if a QB is having troubles with his plant foot. 2 of the picks were overthrows where the DB had to get in behind the receiver to haul in the ball over the shoulder. The 2nd pick was clearly miscommunication between him and his receiver. He expected the receiver to look back into him coming off his break. He released the ball but the receiver kept on running without looking back. A couple other times his targets seemed to get turned around adjusting to the ball. On one particular throw he bounced it off the fingertips of a wide open Zay Jones. The zebras failed to see the Browns DB get a handful of Jones' jersey causing him to break stride just enough to not quite get there.B.C.FAN wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 11:47 amLawrence showed no ill effects while scrambling, rolling out and even taking some big hits in the first half but his throwing mechanics were clearly off. He completed just 11 of 22 passes for 100 yards, 1 TD and 2 interceptions and a QB rating of 40.0. He was outplayed by 38-year-old Cleveland QB Joe Flacco, who was picked up just 3 weeks ago and threw for 212 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT in the half.
For all intents in the NFL the 3rd QB is a break glass in case of emergency QB to be used only if the first 2 QBs are hurt. That's regardless of whether he's on the actual 48 man game roster as New England did this weekend or available as the 49th player as Rourke was. Partiots were the only team to dress 3 QBs. Both backups spent the game on the bench.Toppy Vann wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 2:20 pmI'm convinced there is little to no upside to ever play your 3rd QB under NFL rules.
It's like their OT rule. Sounds good but the wrinkle with OT makes it ridiculous.
Instead of just having 3 QBs on their roster (it's not like it's a big money issue for the NFL), in the Rourke case he has to pass waivers to go back to the PR again.
This means that is highly unlikely if Lawrence was out of the game and Beathard not moving the ball, that they'd risk an untested regular season QB in Rourke playing for several reasons:
1. if he shoots the lights out they've got a back up QB controversy that they don't need or want.
2. it makes it even riskier to get the QB safely back to the PR as someone might take him off waivers.
That grab of the Jones' jersey did prevent the catch from my vantage point. How that got missed by refs was surprising.Hambone wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 3:12 pmAgreed.
