The Lions weren't likely to be offering full benefits to him.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ken "Kato" Kasuya. Born in Vancouver, Ken was predeceased by his father Kenzo, his mother Miwako and sister June. Ken is survived by his brothers Robert and Roy (Janine), niece Katie (Ian), nephews, Danny and Ivan and his uncle, many aunties, and cousins.
Landing his dream job at the age of 13 made Ken a BC Lion at heart for the duration of his life.
Ken was proud of his East End roots and learned the value of hard work, loyalty from his family. These values defined him, both on and off the field and was extended in all the ways he would support and forge relationships with his family and friends. Ken, your smile, wit and kindness is unforgettable. You have left your mark and your roar will continue in the heavens above.
In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe page has been set up https://bit.ly/2vup34D.
A private family service has been observed.
