Thanks Blitz for your wonderful poem and for including me in it. Here is my Christmas wish to everyone:

Here on this cloudy Christmas Day
I send out good wishes your way
Of dancing sugar plum receivers and icy stares
Of defensive linemen dressed like polar bears

May you share laughter with those who are dear
And blessed be your Christmas that is here
May your stockings be full of all you desire
And may your fireplace roar like a Lions fire

There is snow falling on an Argo ship
Eskimos building an igloo
Stampeders riding reindeer
Redblacks outside turning blue

There are Lions on the mountain high
Swervin' Mervyn diving in the sky
Dirty 30 waiting in the wings
To see if Santa brought Grey Cup rings

The clock tolls on Christmas Day
As children laugh and play
As Old Lions dream
Of a Grey Cup flowing on a champagne stream

Very nice, Johnny.

Once again, Merry Christmas to all Lionbackers, Lions' players and staff everywhere.

Well, I forgot about this thread but I penned this today as part of my Xmas letter to friends and family. Thought I might as well share with my Lionbackers Family.

T’was the Night before Christmas – Covid Style

T’was the night before Christmas, I looked all around
Not a creature was stirring, it must be lockdown
The kids were asleep all snug in their rooms
Having sweet dreams of upcoming Zooms

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
Just how many masks can we stuff in there?

The lines weren’t too bad at the shops I must say
I guess it looks better from 6 feet away.
Then up on the roof there was such a clatter
I figured I’d look to see what’s the matter

I heard a deep voice call through the dark
But the words that I heard, sure hit the mark
“On Alpha and Beta and Omicron too
Delta is also part of the crew”

"On Theta, on Kappa, on Sigma and Mu
Let us just hope they don’t’ find these ones too"

Up on the roof, I had a look see
There was a fat guy dressed in PPE
He muttered and sputtered while he wrestled his sack
”With Christmas like this, I’d rather do crack”.

“No milk, no cookies not even a nibble.
No wonder the world is just so uncivil”.
“I would go out to eat but it’s a pain in the neck”.
“Capacity limits are still in effect”.

“And crossing the border, just isn’t the best”.
“Now I need a Molecular Test”
“But Christmas is Christmas, it’s something to save”
“Except when my mask forced me to shave”

He went down the flue and completed his task.
With only one break in his Plexiglas mask.
When he got back to his magical ship
He looked to the sky and crackled his whip.

He rose in the air and called to his team.
“Next year, no excuses, we all need Vaccines”
As he flew out of sight, I heard him exclaim.
Something bout Covid that sounded profane.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Now that brings a morning smile to me and helps to generate some positive Christmas cheer!!

I think the image of Santa on the roof in PPE will last a lifetime.... and your last remark is perfection.

I miss Blitz.
