2018 Vancouver Municipal Election Thread

Now that Gregor Robertson will not be seeking re-election, then it's time to vote for a new Vancouver mayor on October 20, 2018. In his near 10 years as Vancouver mayor, Gregor Robertson certainly made an impact and his legacy has been felt - for better or worse. I'd say the most practical impact was his introduction of so many new bike lanes, making driving much more difficult and may have caused even more traffic in the enough crowded city.

While the candidates haven't been finalized, several individuals have already shown their intent. Who do you want to be the next mayor of Vancouver?

Ian Campbell from Vision has dropped out. I wonder who will now be the Vision candidate.

It's official: Vision Vancouver will not be running a mayoral candidate so the next mayor will not be from the Vision party.

Don't know the Vancouver election scene any more but if any in Vancouver want to elect a good person to Parks Board vote for Greg Edgelow.

Also, we're all voting for another former SFU top wrestler to be returned as a Councillor - Chris Wilson.

Independent Kennedy Stewart will now be the next mayor of Vancouver.

Let's see if he will make an immediate presence and impact by attending the next Lions, Whitecaps, and Canucks to show their loyalty to the local teams. And with the Lions heading into the playoffs, let's see if Stewart will make a friendly wager with the mayor of the playoff opponent.

Vision shut out of the council as well. Suspect that they may cease to be a political entity.

was very happy with Lois Jackson. Not sure about Harvie but hopeful with him being Lois's choice.

Not happy with Doug McCallum in Surrey. Didn't like what surrey was doing with him before Diane

Have a soft spot for Burnaby. Hope new guy continues opposition to the pipeline.
