Our defense was non existent on that winning drive. Seriously awful defense, just let them waltz down the field. Tough loss. Needed a td after that great Manny reception.

Just enough crucial mistakes to lose:

1. Burnham fumble (up by 3 inside Ottawa 30 yardline)
2. Ty Long dropped snap
3. Anthony Thompson dropped INT
4. Lulay time count violation.

Said at the start it was going to take 30 points to win with not a whole lot of faith in the defence. Sure enough that was the magic number.

I agree completely.

The time count was inexcusable and calling a running play with an injured Rainey who isn’t a power runner to begin with all hurt.

Still the Lions had a 3 point lead and let them march down the field with ease. No pressure, no tackles no defensive plays.

That’s a hallmark Washington defence that we have seen for years. More often than not, they give up big plays and can’t get a stop when the need it.

Different years, different personnel, same coordinator, same story!

yes those four plays, we also had a couple of drops in the first half that could have led to points... gotta clean it up..

Our poor results are not a surprise, Sammy.

Wally made some adaptations. But he is up against modern-day coaching. We are stuck with Mark W, master of the sieve defence. Jarious is a first time OC.

We made mistakes that cost us big time. Thompson. Burnham. Watson. Long. Man short at times pre-snap. Time count. Prevent defence preventing a win. Et cetera ...

well, not a train wreck,,,, couldve scored more points, considering the injuries, 3rd quarter i thought Lulay went long on 2nd short too many times... couldve kept drives going with short sure plays... we're always terrible coming offa by in the wally era....

don't forget the penalty by Odelle Willis 3rd and 8 kicking from their own endzone and he goes and messes with the Ottawa bench

This is his second nightmare game of the season. If you're an American kicker/punter you have to be damn near purrfect. I am not enamoured with the diving either. He needs to be pushed. Maybe we sign someone like Quinn van Gylswyk.
