Lions 19th consecutive year in the playoffs. Surprised a lot of people that they made the playoffs in a rebuild year. My heart says the Lions but my mind says Stampeder will win. UBC were prohibitive underdogs against the favoured Calgary Dinos but the T-Birds pulled off a massive upset this afternoon. Would be nice if another Vancouver team does it again tomorrow

Right, the UBC Thunderbirds upset the undefeated 8-0 University of Calgary Dinosaurs 34-26 in Calgary today to win the Hardy Cup and advance to the semi-finals. Let this be a prelude of the professional level between the same cities tomorrow. :beauty:

Semi-final for the UBC will be at StFx next Saturday, even though UBC had a better regular season record of 6-2 compared to the 5-3 StFx. It looks like the two semifinal bowl venues, Mitchell and Uteck, is determined on a pre-determined, rotational basis instead of the team with the better regular season.

The B.C. starters are all back for this game, after nine of them were rested last week and several others were pulled in the first quarter.

I like the way the Lions match up against the Stamps on offence and defence, especially the B.C. passing attack against the Calgary secondary. On special teams, Chris Rainey had his best game against the Stamps when the Lions were in Calgary in the regular season.

One stat: In all six games that Jonathon Jennings started, the Lions have led in the fourth quarter. Calgary's record is just 1-3 when trailing after three quarters. The Lions just need to play their usual game for three quarters and finish in the fourth quarter.

I'm optimistic about the Lions' chances and hopeful that they eliminate costly mistakes that have been their trademark. Whatever happens, I know they'll give it their best effort

Unfortunately Mark Washington has a tendency to play a prevent defence when they're leading allowing teams to mount a comeback.

If the lions come into with game thinking and fearing to be beat...then they might as well mail it in

It all depends on how much the lions want this

If the game plan is sound and not vanilla, the BC lions can make the western final...ROAR!!!

Acc to 1040 BC won the coin toss and deferred. I think Cgy elected to receive and BC took the wind in the longer Q2.

BC will prob take the wind in Q4 as well which means we'll prob see BC kick off both halves.
