Paul "Money" McCallum ... wow ...
Wild game. The Stamps came to play. IMO they got a bit lucky on the missed FG. Bad coverage. We need some cover guys on that team. Not all hogs as blockers.
Plus a long TD pass for Calgary.
All in all, it made for an exciting game.
Iannuzzi made a great return to set up the winning FG. Nice play from Travis to Bruce.
Just another great CFL game. The NFL has nothing on this. NFL = No Fun League.

Stamps made some great adjustments in the second half to limit Lulay to 57 yards. But man oh man, do the Lions need to work on their ST contain team, game after game it is allowing the opposition to remain within reach. Eliminate the extra yardage and the Lions are in total control.

So true
Special Teams were the hero's and the goats tonight!
I can only guess that the kick offs aren't getting enough hang time. Often a symptom of older kickers

Ok, yes its a win... BUT it was pure luck - inspite of the coaching.
14 seconds left. They blow snapping the ball and do a run play???? And even after the ref's gave them some time due to some procedural issues. So they blow the play in and they wait around to snap the ball and then the player runs it and is trying to break tackles as the clock is running to 6,5,4 seconds!! Where is the sharp football skills? If he had kept running (he was around the 50) the game would have ended!!
A- should have been a short wide pass to the sidelines.
B- even after the botched snap and run play... the guy has to be counting and know that he needs to go down or the game will be over.
Yeah, a win, but these mistakes will come back to haunt the lions mark my words. And at the end of the second half... Chap and Buono decide to punt on the last play. On the last play of the half. Why not throw it? Or run it? Or dance around with it like vikings? Or let Jarious gun it.
Buono: get a headset so someone with some sense can tell him and chap what to do. or kick youself up stairs so you dont look like a jabroni in front of the home fans.

They don't ask how, they ask how many...
McCallum - Nothing needs to be said.
Yurichuk - Such a hard worker on special teams and such an intelligent player. His football IQ is off the charts and that was evident tonight.
Elimimian - Come back soon and get well.
Great effort, great game, great win.
Go Lions Go!

Something maybe not thought about, but Money has been well, money, with the consecutive Fg made streak..the guys who block for FG's have had no chance to cover a missed FG return.

Yes an exciting ending to an enjoyable game. In the last 14 seconds, I was also pulling what little hair is left on my head out, when play is blown in and the seconds just ticked away for a run play. With 20/20 hindsight, whew, they got enough and MoneyMcCallum booted the winning field goal but I was worried until I saw those officials raise their arms signalling field goal was good.
Calgary seemed to do well on the ground today. Burris looked just AWFUL in warmups. His throws were wobbling like wounded ducks. Even the Coach was tossing better throws. Certainly both Burris backups were. Once the game was on he seemed to throw okay though. Certainly this is the worst I've seen the BC defence in awhile and I'm not saying they were awful, its just they spoiled me there for a few games. My standards went up I guess.....
Missed the cable cam. That camera got some great shots. bring it back, please. Also, show more replays. I've whined about this for a few seasons now (before BC Place closed and all the games at Empire). The first game back at BC Place was great, IMO, showed almost everything. I'm one of those nuts who wants to see the replay of the little run and the incomplete pass and the big hit. I'd get to see them if I was watching on TV, I'm betting. Show them in the stadium, please.
I missed the Calgary fake kick that was called back due to 'no end', IIRC. Some people just don't realize that just because you think this play isn't important doesn't mean that it might not be one of the big ones. Just ready to run the play and UP they pop to go do whatever (bathroom, another hot dog). There are more than enough breaks in the action, you don't have to get up when the play is running....

I don't think CFL teams are going to hit Harris anymore. Calgary tried hitting Harris and he just kept churning up yards and/or having the defender helped off the field. Later in the game they made sure to TACKLE because hitting the guy doesn't seem to work......
I was sure wrong about how the game turned out. Sitting in the stadium, I thought the Stamps had a better game than they did along the ground. Pure CFL football game though. McCallum makes that field goal and Taylor doesn't house it, we probably get a much less exciting ending...... Fun to watch.
One other thing, the roof was leaking big time in my section. I"m guessing water pools up, breaks apart the seam and then it leaks. The steady leak would happen and then dissappear. During the third quarter it started leaking again with all the felions crouched nearby ready to do a number. I'm sure all of that will get fixed once they have time to do so. Wonder when the improved seals are going to get done?
