Very fine game by the D. Well done! Too bad the TV crew (they keep getting worse!) couldn't recognize that the issue wasn't the poor Toronto QB,but rather the ferocious D.
No complaints, but I thought Travis has played better games. And what can one say against young Mr. Foster? Monster game!

I could not watch the game after the first quarter. I was able to follow a bit on CFL Live Play. Looks like we played a good game.
Great stats for Lulay. Cleo played like a lemon.
We got the Lulu. They got the Lemon.
Nice to see Iannuzzi get his first catch. Calm and cool.
Funny how QBs can find Arland. Little guy. Really gets open.

We won, which is great.
I was not impressed by the slow start of the offense, it took until the 3rd quarter until they actually got going. Only against Toronto can you win while playing like that.
Defense was amazing..they wouldn't even give up a first down!
We got lucky when Barker pulled Lemon to play Bell..not saying Lemon is great, but at least he can play.

A win's a win. Love the game by Foster.
Lulay was effective and Elimiman and his mates on D did their thing.
Overall, good effort, but let's remember the argos are totally incompetent.

It is the Argo's, but the your positives are worth mentioning. Argo's ST vastly outplayed the Lions ST, and nice to see that Foley was virtually ineffective with a fumble recovery when he wasn't close to the QB. Still hard to win the back to backs and the Lions are playing at TEmpire, which hasn't put a scare into the opposition.geroy_simon_081 wrote:A win's a win. Love the game by Foster.

The offence left alot of points on the field. You can't do that against better teams. They need to improve special teams coverage for next week.

It was both. The Argos offense was offensive. It has been all year. Yes, the Lions defense played very well, but the Argos QB's as a group are inept.prj wrote:Very fine game by the D. Well done! This I agree with, loved the win, Travis had a great game but did not cash in as often as perhaps he should have,TheLionKing wrote:The offence left alot of points on the field. You can't do that against better teams. They need to improve special teams coverage for next week.
Bruce has changed the performance of the entire offence, quite amazing really as balls that were being dropped earlier in the yr are now magically being caught.

Some random thoughts.....
• 2010 draft shaping up as one of the Lions best ever with two impact receivers in Foster (a 4th fricken rounder!!!!) and Gore. And that's with even blowing their top pick on Watkins.
• Elimimian all over the field again. Haven't seen this type of impact from a defensive player since #91's two brilliant seasons. Sadly it looks like Solo is following the same path.
• Lionbackers would have a field day if Barker was coaching here. Lemon wasn't great but Bell was simply horrific. Thanks Jim for sticking with him.
• Argos sadly look a lot like the franchise Braley was running in BC prior to Bob Ackles return. 19,000 (was there that many?) rattling around a huge stadium watching a boring product.
• don't know the number of hurried throws Lulay made tonight but there were a lot. His numbers were solid given the constant pressure. The interior of the o-line (Reid, Valli, Newman) were overmatched.

Yeah, that is the thing, the Argos are not a good product and imo, Barker is not a good coach, I hate to see that franchise so run down atm.
We rightfully got on Chap for not running the ball, but at least Lulay had potential and we had Geroy, all they really have on O is Boyd and they do not use him nearly enough.
Chad Owens is just a incredibly exciting Returner, but you are just not going to win games consistently relying on him to make stuff happen.
As for us, the Defence looks like they finally have the right mix of vets and imports and guys they signed after the season started and I'm encouraged that maybe Muamba is the answer at Safety.

It is interesting how long it sometimes takes Wally to get his personnel right.
How many guys has he tried at safety since Barron Miles retired?
And meantime, there was Cauchy Muamba, great athlete, played safety in college, sitting on the PR, and on STs.
J.R. LaRose is a great character guy, but he is as fragile as Sami Salo. Sanchez. Phillips. Hyland. Arakgi. Tad Crawford. But no, we have to follow that blueprint that was so good for almost 20 years: Make them put in time on the PR and on STs. (I wonder how long Barron Miles and Mike Benevides have been saying to Wally that we have the right guy. Let's give him a chance.)
Wally still insists on making guys die on the PR for far too long. At least he is getting Iannuzzi involved early this year. Last year he failed to get any live receiver reps for Shawn Gore or Akeem Foster. Then we throw them to the wolves this year, with no catches previously, plus 2 imports to boot. And I won't buy any argument that says: "Well look at them now." What I see is the green as grass guys at the start of the year, when we went 1 and 6, dropping balls all over the place.
Ah well. We are as good as our last game. Two games in fact. Beating up teams in disarray, but victory still tastes sweet.
Bring on the Stamps. Bring on the Alouettes. Ummmm well I guess we get to beat up on Braley East one more time, first. And at new B.C. Place. Awesome. Should be an amazing atmosphere. Kind of like the original opening back in the 1980s.
..............
Watched a bit of that Argo documentary after the game. Barker's words ring kind of hollow. Just the same way his team is playing. You can see the guys giving the blank look as he talks.
It looks like Barker totally mishandled Cleo Lemon all along the way. Lemon was laughing on the sideline at Bell's interceptions. Chris Schultz really called him out on TV after the game.

I don't see what Barker sees in Cleo Lemon. This guy played in the NFL ?? After he was pulled, he was standing at the end of the bench by himself rather than offering some help to his replacement. Hardly a team player.
