Bench Lulay

He keeps making mistakes and doesn't seem ready. Everyone keeps raving on he's going to be a star for years to come in this league, some even comparing him to Dickenson, which I think is quite a stretch. Put Jarious in and lets see what the veteran can do. Lulay isn't totally to blame when receivers keep dropping passes. And taking dumb penalties.

Jackson cant' get it done anyways, never could thats why he was never the permanent starter. I'd rather see Reilly, heck I'd even take an old Doug Flutie at this point.

Never could? Sorry. The guy has played in 2 games in 2 years. Expect some rust. Our problem wasn't the qb. It was the fumbles and horrid o line play.

I would have gone with Reilly, just for the opportunity to give him some real game time. I have respect for JJ as well, but he isn't going to be our future. Reilly of course is the scout team QB, but that is where the mistake is being made, JJ was brought in because of his experience this year, he should be able to adapt if he was running the scout team vs Reilly.

Change QBs? It will be far worse.
It is not Lulay making those fumbles.
But sure, change QBs. It would bring on more losses. Even David Braley might get tired by that time.

Not sure that I understand about when you mean WCJ, Lulay was changed out and I had no problem with the timing. If you mean to start the games, then I do agree with you, but when the game is said and done, it is time to give Reilly time to figure this game out, IMO.

I was being snarky, Rammer.
IMO it will make no positive difference to start another quarterback. None. Just as it made no difference putting JJ in.
But, Wally just might be desperate enough to change QBs. Ummmmm, nope, I don't think so. I think he realized if he does, it will be bedlam.
I am kind of venting. Back and forth.
I kind of think if we did make the change, people would see that OK maybe it wasn't the quarterback. And Lulay might keep his sanity.
Stay with Lulay. Change quarterbacks. Whatever. It is just shuffling chairs on the Titanic.
LOL ... Does that make it any clearer, Rammer? LOL

I have to say that I wasn't surprised in the games outcome, I didn't even get mad about it, as it is what it is at this point. Low expectations for the execution of the Lions.

Lulay, while young and inexperienced (16 starts) is not the problem. You're going to have growing pains with a young QB and who around Lulay has stepped up to take the pressure off of him? Simon. Who else? Not Chapdelaine with his lack of running for 3 games. Not Buono by starting so many rookie WRs. Not those other receivers with all their drops. I could go on, but please leave Lulay alone. He's one of a few players on this team with a real future.

I think Simon had an off game too, IMO. Hall of Famer, for sure. Gotta do more. Make some chickensalad out of .....

Lulay was not your only problem tonight...it was a total team let down in the second half from penalties and turnovers to lack of execution across the board

in fact the tsn broadcasters were surprised that Lulay didnt go back in after he cooled down. They also said the play calling needed to get simplified with Bruce in there..so that falls on chap

Bruce has the ability to be a deep threat, so what do we do? We throw short to him. His biggest reception tonight was 8 yards.
We run some really good plays at the beginning of the game, and what do we do? Go away from it.
I give up.

Geroy has to go and win some balls that are up for grabs, he is afterall a receiver. Hefney played him on two back to back plays to Geroy, not the way it should be with the top receiver. He also had the INT ball which should be his to come down with, but it seems to happen with teams that are good to begin with.

I'm starting to worry about Lulay. He is no longer that young or that inexperienced, and I don't see him progressing much.
The more I see of him, the less promising he looks.
I could be wrong, and he could turn it around, but it all seems pretty iffy right now.
