Season tickets
I got half my season tickets in the mail today. The team is only sending out tickets for the first half of the season at Empire Field, through the Sept. 10 game against the Argonauts. It's a much more economical package than last year, with few frills or keepsakes. Enclosed with the tickets was a notice that "collectors edition season ticket packages" for the second half of the season will be sent out in late August. The one new feature in the current package is a voucher for a Lions car flag. It will be nice to see more of them on the road when hockey season is over.

I am not very impressed with my season ticket package...hopefully the one for BC Place has more splash and flash.

I will gladly forgo splash and flash in my season ticket package for more splash and flash on the field this year.MacNews wrote:I am not very impressed with my season ticket package...hopefully the one for BC Place has more splash and flash.

Edit - Just went to the mailbox and got my envelope. Not too dissimilar to past years - rec'd 2 schedules, 2 "Buy 1 Get 1" vouchers for a game, and 2 car stickers. This year, no calendar (didn't really use it anyway), but got a voucher for a free car flag.

Re: Season tickets
I used the fridge magnet a lot so not getting one is definitely a downside. Also... we didn't get a Monthly calendar. That's a HUGE miss for me as I use mine all the time at work :/David wrote:I will gladly forgo splash and flash in my season ticket package for more splash and flash on the field this year.MacNews wrote:I am not very impressed with my season ticket package...hopefully the one for BC Place has more splash and flash.![]()

Re: Season tickets
I'm sure the decision to go with car flags this year was to provide another promotional tool in the sports market battlefield. Even if only a couple of thousand season ticket holders use the flag on their way to home games, it's good exposure for the club.
Not sure when the decision was made to split the season ticket packages based on the different venues but it's sure looking like a wise move. Trying to get the attention of the casual sports fan these days is basically impossible and it will stay that way for the next three weeks at least, especially if the Canucks win the cup. Add July 1st to the mix with some potential key Canuck FAs, including Bieksa and Erhoff.
Might as well save a good chunk of your marketing efforts and budget until late August/September to push move back to BC Place. Can't say enough how important it will be for this team to get off to a competitive start, unlike last season

Re: Season tickets
I coulda done without the big cardboard holder for the tickets! I liked the calendar. I'll admit its weird when a month comes up for a guy whose been cut (Sherko e.g.). I also like the fact Lions birthdays were on the calendar. But no big deal. Definately want to go home happier from football games as oppossed to being thrilled about what I got with my season tickets...

They're probably still working on seat assignments?SammyGreene wrote:I'm sure the decision to go with car flags this year was to provide another promotional tool in the sports market battlefield. Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
