2011 Vanier Cup - McMaster 41, Laval 38 (2OT)

First, congratulations to Laval for capturing the Vanier Cup for their fifth time in eight years. They appear to be a dynasty.
During the 2011 Grey Cup festival, for the first time Vancouver will host the Vanier on Friday, November 25, 2011. At the risk of having another attendance thread, I am curious about the attendance of that event.

Checking this page: http://www.magma.ca/~jhayman/ciau/histo ... erCup.html
It looks like the attendance record so far is 32,847 set in 1989.

Will you intend the event? As optomistic as I want to be, I'm realistic and I think the attendance would be around 15,000. If the UBC Thunderbirds make it the Vanier Cup, attendance might increase to around 20,000.

With the 2011 Vanier Cup held in Vancouver, is there a Canadian college you hope will win? Just like American college alumni really support their football teams, will you support your Canadian university in their quest fot he Vanier Cup if you are an alumni of one.

The Thunderbirds are currently at 5-2 at second place in the Canada West division. They will have a huge challenge with the unbeaten Calgary Dinos who are hungry after finishing second over the last two seasons. Go Thunderbirds in capturing their fourth Vanier Cup, since 1997!

The tickets were so cheap I couldn't say no. When I was younger I NEVER missed catching the Vanier Cup on TV. Back then it was often the only CIS game I saw televised in my area. I think its great to have the Grey Cup/Vanier Cup in the same city on the same weekend. Maybe it won't work long-term or in every city. But, I'm going to enjoy it this season.

Hi Blue In BC and notahomer, just wondering did you attend a Canadian university and if you did, will you be supporting your college as an alumni, or will you support the local university, UBC, or will be indifferent to which college wins?

I didn't attend university so I'm just supporting football in general. Today's university kids might be tomorrows stars in the CFL.

It's all part of the build up towards the GreyCup.

:)
