Lions at Alouettes, Game Day Thread, November 22, 2009

It is almost here. Wow. From out of nowhere, from a season on the brink of extinction, we are in a most exciting position.

I hope the game is all that we could hope for. I hope Casey plays very well, our running game is productive, and our defence is stout.

Bring it on.

Re: Lions at Alouettes, Game Day Thread, November 22, 2009

Some considerations ...

O Line

I think Heerspink has been solid. I expect Valli to play well. He just has to relax and play the game. O Line has to get the procedure stuff under control. Time for the game of your life, Sherko.

Aerial game.

Go Casey. On Geroy. On Paris. On Manny. On Donner. On Blitzen. Runnin' like deer. Runnin' like one can hear the sleigh bells ringing.

Running game.

Go Martell. Go Ian. Go Jamal. (Wouldn't that be a surprise?) Go Hogs up front.

D Line

Go like you have done so much this year.

LBs

Time for the game of your lives.

DBs

Courage, Boys. Play tough. Challenge the receivers.

STs

Go Hard.

Coaches.

Innovate. Inspire. Get 'em to play hard. Attack the opponent everywhere.
.............

If we play well, that is all I could really want. Winning would be a bonus. But what a bonus.

Re: Lions at Alouettes, Game Day Thread, November 22, 2009

* Knock Anthony Calvillo down a few times. Don't make it comfortable for him to sit back in the pocket to find his receivers.

* On that note, hope that Brent Johnson has the same success against AC as he did against Kevin Glenn.

* Take advantage of any breaks that may come your way - the ALs are not the Tiger Cats - if you get a chance to capitalize on a Montreal miscue, come away with points.

* Score early (and hopefully often) in order to take the crowd out of the game. :cheer:

* Sustained drives by the Lions will help keep the ball out of Calvillo's hands. Don't give the Als offence a chance to build any kind of momentum.

* Keep penalties to a minimum - especially the O line procedure penalties. :cr:

* Bottom line...we're playing on the road, in front of 55,000 screaming people who hate our guts...we've got them right where we want them. (Thank You John Hufnagel)...................................So let's just win, baby! :yahoo:

This game is all about the BC O-line. As they go, so goes the season. GO LIONS!!

Whatever the scoreboard results it’s going to be the tale of two very different seasons today, and the consequential anguish or jubilation that follows from either eventuality. :cr:

I hope TSN has a real pre game show, and we aren't subjected to an NFL pre game.
I hope Casey and Geroy quiet their 50,000 + fans early .
