I saw Grice-Mullen play a ton at Hawaii. Caught a lot of Colt Brennan's passes. He could definitely push Skillern, Coleman or Hill.

Seems to have registered the 4.33 with a concern for his hamstring, maybe there is a little more in that tank as well.

I think I'll tend to tread cautiously mostly because of his decision re: the NFL draft. Grice-Mullen did put up some impressive numbers in June Jones' pass happy Rainbow Warrior offence. Yet there are some mixed messages. He still had a year of NCAA eligibility left but opted to forego that and declared himself for the NFL draft. He didn't get drafted. He initially signed with Houston on May 9 and was released June 14. He was signed by the Bears on July 24 and cut on August 24. He dressed for the first 3 Bear exhibition games before being cut. He saw a little action in the first one but didn't step onto the field in the other two. He didn't register any stats. The NFL scouting analysis seems to contradict the message of the 4.38 40. 4.38 says blazing fast, but the analysis says more quick than fast. In the combine he did post the 3rd or 4th fastest time for receivers in the 20 yard shuttle.

He looks pretty good on that tape despite not being a fan of dat musik.

Hambone makes good points but let's face it. They are a lot of very good players (look here in the CFL) that get missed in the draft or get a look there but somehow the coaches don't fancy their skills or just like a different player.

Unless this guy is some sort of financial hardship case, I am not sure he helped himself by leaving a year behind him unless he red shirted for a year and has a degree. The university system is a development camp for the pros and 4 years is what makes the most sense to maximize the value there.

It's like I used to tell guys who got cut from other teams and end up starters on mine and we're winning and the team that cut them isn't - every coach has his or her own idea of what or who is a good player. I know coaches who will never look at a guy for central defence under 5'11 or 6' and same for striker even if the guy is brilliant. Some will sign flakes and gypsies who move year after year and some won't.

His leaving school to be eligible for the draft may suggest that he thinks he's better than what he really is.

I think he has a little Nic Lewis in him from that video with a nose for the endzone, ready to sacrifice his body to cross the goal line. His shiftiness and quick acceleration is well suited for the CFL field size and motion.

Motion will IMO, he is very quick in his cuts, he should gain that separation if they try and jam him instantly or drawing them into close coverage.

He may work out better up here if he is shifty in the open field as opposed to in closer quarters down south. If he can make that first defender miss as the scouting report seems to suggest, he might do well with only adequate speed and a bigger field.

I'm afraid the only field he'll see will be the practice field.
