I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this player? He didn't sign this year, is what I've been told. It was suggested by someone on CFL.com that I come here to find some answers. Anybody know ANYTHING? It would be very helpful. Thank you!

OK, it's me again. Does anyone really know nothing about this guy? Does he exist? He may have been a floater, not really sure. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thank you!

You are barking up the wrong tree, there isn't anyone by that name(s) associated with the Lions. They didn't draft anyone by that name, nor have they had anyone in their history going by any of the names you are suggesting. Unless he was/is on their neg list, something that we don't have access to, he hasn't shown up on the radar as of yet. Perhaps you can help, by listing where he is from, position he played, or age.

Beware of the internet, sometimes people exaggerate their self worth trying to impress those that are unaware.

Thanks for your help. He says he's from BC, not sure about position, and as far as I know, he is 29.

Yea, thanks for the warning about the internet, i know that too, that's why I'm checking into this so much. I want to believe him, but need to find out how honest he is for sure. This is the only thing so far that has me stumped. Thanks for your comments and help, much appreciated.

The only McDonald I recall is a Mark McDonald and that's several years ago.

Not sure what started you down this road, but the Lions are training in Abbotsford. There is a Rick MacDonald who is president of the Abbotsford Falcons Football Association who also use the same Rotary Stadium the Lions are training at. Maybe a little confusion there? Quite likely the AFFA is providing some sort of assistance to the Lions while they run their camp.

OKAY! Her we go! The story behind the question... I recently met a guy on the internet, this is his name and the info he has told me. You have his name, he says he used to play for the Lions but didn't sign this year. I am just checking things out because I was hoping to learn more about him, what I've come up with so far is that, he doesn't exist as far as Lions are concerned. HMMMM........ That is what started this me down this road. Thanks for your help so far everyone.

Going through the Lions all time roster, and I can verify that no one by the name MacDonald has played for the Lions since 1990. Not on the roster, he is an impostor.

Perhaps an offseason camp signing who was an early cut in camp? A guy could consider himself having "played" if he did participate in training camp or an exhibition game but wouldn't show on their all-time roster if he didn't suit up for a regular season game.

I know there was a Patrick MacDonald drafted/signed out of the CIS (Canadian University League) to the Saints in the NFL.

Only other one I could find was Darnell McDonald....former Stamps and Bomber receiver.

Why don't you ask him what school he played out before allegedly coming to the Lions? Might be a better starting point.

Frankly if this person has already exaggerated themselves to the point were you can't really trust what they are saying, I'm not sure why you go further in the first place. It is a far cry from "having played for the Lions" to being maybe a cut from a training camp or what have you (assuming there is even the slightest grain of truth in it whatsoever). There are a lot of folks around here who have followed the Lions for years and if not one of them can come up with the slightest recollection of this fellow (even as a training camp cut), then you can be pretty sure that any involvement with the Lions was minimal at best. If you have outed him so soon into this potential relationship, it seems like pursuing it is only likely to bring further exaggerations, half truths and disappointments.
