How does this stuff get on ebay.....Passaglia wouldn't part with his ring, would he?? Seems kind of strange

The seller says the ring was a salesman's sample and that Lui's real ring would probably have had real diamonds.
So I'm assuming Lui never got this specific ring.
They just decided to use the great Lui's name on the sample.

The ad says it's a sample, not the original Passaglia ring.

That is definitely just a sample. I don't think Passaglia would be crazy like Alondra Johnson and put any of his four Grey Cup rings for sale.

To be fair to Alondra Johnson, he may not have voluntarily sold them as articles like this one say that the ring was stolen and then sold on eBay.

so it's a fake ring basically, does anyone know why this would be floating around for sale online? Like is this not something that would be detroyed or retained by the team or manufacturer? Just seems really really unusual to me for that to be out there and potentially having people get scammed...

Well, the eBay site description itself states that it's not the real thing:

This Ring was made by famed Championship Ring Maker Intergold and contains the “Proper Manufacture Markings” inside of the ring this being INTERGOLD 10K. Since this ring is make of 10K Gold it can be resized by any good jeweler. The ring is in Excellent condition as you can see in the photos. This Ring would be the exact same ring that Passaglia would have been presented except his ring would probably had real diamonds.

I think Intergold made these replica rings to sell to the fans, and some of those who bought them have decided to resell on eBay.
