How far away are you from BC Place?

From time to time there are some threads worthy of keeping .... they go in here .. as do past Felion Prowl Photo Shoots :)

Get this -- I live on the west side so it tells me to take the Cambie Bridge and be there in 15 mins from 8.2 km away :rotf:

Google Earth has a neat ruler tool so you can map out your own route -- it's more tedious but you can mouse around the end points arbitrarily. My usual route via bus covers 4.99 miles (8.03 km -- less than the Almighty Google has decreed) but takes at least 45 min home to seat.
56 kilometres or 54 minutes (HA!). It seems Google Maps hasn't factored in game night traffic. A more realistic estimate would be 90 minutes.
Google maps hasn't factored in VANCOUVER.

And take a careful look at the BC Place endpoint and ask yourself if you can park there!
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Yeah, there's also a lot more passing lanes along the way now, 15 years later ;)
