Chuck McMann resigned as head coach at McGill, and is a friend of Buono's. This article seems to suggest he could be headed to BC.

Interesting speculation. If McMann does land in Vancouver I don't think it will be in the role of Offensive Coordinator.

Actually if he does come here it's exactly what it sounds like."Speculation is McMann, who also was the offensive coordinator at McGill, will land in the CFL with the Grey Cup champion B.C. Lions, where his longtime friend Wally Buono is general manager and head coach."

Buono appointed co-offensive coordinators in Steve Kruck and Dan Dorazio. They are more familiar with the Lions personnel than McCann. McCann if he comes to the Lions might be a better fit with coaching some other area such as running backs etc.

If he does return to the CFL, with his team's disgusting record for hazing, I'm sure the Lions won't be putting this guy in charge of rookie night!!!

He was the OC for a University team, which does not really suggest that he would take over that role with the Lions, and I doubt that would be the case given the large gap between the two. He may get another spot on the team that he could grow with and eventually get an OC job, IMHO.OrangeShoes99 wrote:TheLionKing wrote:Interesting speculation. Entertainment value = an all time low
I am 100% opposed to hazing in any form, but to be fair to McCann he is only one in a long line of sports coaches who turned a blind eye to this garbage for years. He just happened to get caught, and his school became the poster child for a long overdue ban on this barbaric practice. Therefore, as wrong as he may have been in his initial reaction to the scandal, I don't think it's fair to judge the guy's whole coaching career on that one episode.Toppy Vann wrote:If he does return to the CFL, with his team's disgusting record for hazing, I'm sure the Lions won't be this guy in charge of rookie night!!!

Rammer he was an assistant to Buono for years, as a running back receivers coach, so I am fairly certain that he knows Buono's offense well. It's not like he's made his way up through the college ranks. And just because they appointed Kruck and Dorazio by committee doesn't mean he may have changed his mind if McCann became available. They have already appointed a receivers coach as well.
Time will tell I guess.
