The BC Lions Felions Dance Team will be conducting auditions for the 2007 Felions Dance Team on Saturday March 10th, 2007 at the Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie St, Vancouver) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Registration begins at 9:00 AM.

NEW FOR 2007 ? FELIONS PREP CLASS
The Felions Dance Team is pleased to be offering an audition-prep class to help aspiring-Felions prepare for tryouts.
The 1 ? hour prep dance class will provide participants with an overview of the style of dance combinations similar to those performed at Auditions and at all BC Lions games.
Appropriate dance attire is required, no hard soled shoes please.
This class is limited to the first 30 paid registrants. No refunds will be provided for no-shows.
Confirmation will be provided by email. Please bring a copy of this email to the class.
When: Sunday March 4th, 2007

WHO ARE THE FELIONS?
They are the 34 beautiful and talented women that represent the BC Lions Football Club at community, charity and corporate events in an energetic, informed and professional manner.
They are one of the premiere Dance Teams in the CFL in reputation ? setting and maintaining the highest standards of excellence in appearance, talent and dedication to community service.
The Felions contribute to the exciting and interactive experience of game day at all BC Lions home games with energy, enthusiasm and team spirit.
They?re driven by their love and passion for dance, performance, CFL football and BC Lions team spirit!

WHAT TO EXPECT
When you arrive, proceed to the registration area for check-in. You will be given an application form to fill out and will be asked to provide a $10.00 non-refundable application fee for registration (Cash Only). Once the form has been filled out, please return it to the registration desk and provide a 4x6" or larger headshot. Please note that the photo is not used in the evaluation process, rather as a form of identification. Once you have registered, you will be given an audition number to be worn on the front of your attire. Please ensure this number is visible at all times.
On Day One, you will be taught basic, across-the-floor routines that you will perform in groups in front of a panel of judges. There will also be a short freestyle portion to the Tryouts. Twice throughout, a group of finalists will be announced; the final group will perform at the public Finalist Showcase and participate in the interview process.
Required Attire
Please wear only dance/athletic attire such as a sports bra/half tank and shorts or a skort. No long pants or tights please. Wear only dance or athletic shoes. Make-up and hairstyle should be worn how you envision wearing it with the uniform on game day.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the judging criteria?
* Physical Appearance
* Showmanship & crowd appeal (personality projection, enthusiasm, energy!)
* Dance ability including general rhythm and coordination as well as ability to pick up choreography
* Interviews (Finalists only)
How many people audition for the Felions? 100 - 150 candidates audition each year to fill the 34 final game day positions. All candidates must attend the March 10th & 11th tryouts for an opportunity to make the team, no further tryouts will take place.
Do veterans have to re-audition each season? Felions that have been on the team for the entire previous season are required to re-audition, however they will join the are only required to attend the second half of tryouts to participate in the Finalist Showcase. Veterans are required to attend the Interview process.
Do the Felions get paid? Felions Dance Team members do not get paid for being on the team. Each member receives two (2) 2007 season tickets, numerous sponsored services such as gym membership, tanning, clothing discounts as well as hair and make-up services. Felions are not compensated for rehearsals or game day performances however most appearances other than Charity are paid. Opportunities for paid appearances are numerous but not guaranteed.
What type of time commitment is involved if I make the team? Being a Felion is a huge commitment! Attendance at all 10 home games plus playoffs, rehearsals, photo shoots, appearances and BC Lions team events is mandatory. The Felions attend up to 200 corporate, charity and community events per calendar year as representatives of the BC Lions Football Club. All Felions are expected to make the trip to Grey Cup 2007 in Toronto from November 23 ? 26, 2007.

Anyone spys scouting those tryouts and reporting back. We need to keep on top of these things. Stay one step ahead of the competition.

Actually, there were not too many veterans returning. As C4L mentioned in that other thread in the Events forum, a lot of Felions from last year were not at the auditions again.
