bc lion monkey

here is a souvenir bc lion MONKEY!? ,fill in the obligatory monkey joke, being sold on e bay. anyone ever heard of something like this? they are stating it is from the 50's
Thank you for everything you did for OUR Lions Mr.Ackles, we will never forget you...RIP
As an avid Lions collector, this gets my vote for the strangest piece of B.C. Lions memorablia ever created. I understand neither the tie-in to the football club and its significance nor its intended target market. Frankly, it would scare most children - and more than a few adults for that matter.
Second place goes to a Cowichan-style cardigan from the early 60's made from a pattern. Picture a pouncing mountain lion on the back that more closely resembles a giant orange rat and you get an idea of what this sweater looks like.

Growing up I had a neighbour who had one of these. You would wind it up and it would clap the cymbals. IIRC it came with a leather-like helmet and a sweater or jacket that said BC Lions on it. Don't recall too much else but that was 30+ years ago that I saw it.

I got a cool plastic Lion's visor from Value Village on the weekend. It's orange and brown. It's so ugly heehee, i love it!

And if it is the same one I have, if you wear it too long (read anything more than 1/2 an hour) the foam padding comes off on your forehead, leaving you with black marks for everyone to laugh at ...Charlene wrote:I want one!
